Why Deephaven Mortgage?

Deephaven Mortgage has been a pioneer and leader in non-QM since our origin in 2012. Our longevity and strength in the non-QM space has allowed a significant number of borrowers to achieve homeownership who otherwise would not have under traditional requirements. Deephaven champions mortgage borrowers whose independence, entrepreneurial drive and determination are often the very reason they cannot qualify for a traditional loan.

We continuously and responsibly innovate new mortgage products and programs that put homeownership within reach of millions of borrowers and investors that need and deserve financing through lending ingenuity that is supported by common-sense underwriting.

Deephaven is comprised of two lending platforms. Our wholesale channel offers loans through a network of over 1,000 independent mortgage brokers. Our correspondent channel buys loans from over 200 correspondent partners.

Deephaven’s headquarters are in Charlotte, North Carolina. To learn more about our innovative loan solutions please visit www.deephavenmortgage.com or email us at info@deephavenmortgage.com.

Position summary

We're looking for an experienced construction and fix-and-flip lending professional to build and grow our national residential transition lending (RTL) channel. You'll serve as the dedicated construction lending resource for our Account Executive team. You'll help AEs identify, structure and close ground-up construction and fix-and-flip opportunities within their broker and correspondent relationships, and act as the bridge between Deephaven and our RTL lending partner, Anchor Loans.

This is a national business development, sales support and production growth role. The Account Executive keeps ownership of the client relationship; you extend their expertise so they can win and retain more business.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the scenario and deal desk for construction and fix-and-flip opportunities: pre-screen deals, advise on structure and eligibility, and set expectations early.
  • Partner with Account Executives on client meetings, presentations and builder or investor conversations.
  • Help AEs identify construction and fix-and-flip opportunities within existing broker and correspondent relationships.
  • Coordinate between Deephaven sales and Anchor Loans sales, credit and operations as loans move from submission to funding.
  • Identify and resolve issues early to keep deals moving and improve pull-through and turn times.
  • Develop new broker, correspondent, builder and investor relationships nationally.
  • Train AEs on construction and fix-and-flip products, guidelines and positioning, and build awareness of the platform across the sales organization.
  • Track pipeline, conversion and funded production; report on results and recommend program improvements.

Qualifications

Required:

  • [5]+ years of experience in residential transition lending, such as ground-up construction, fix-and-flip, bridge or renovation lending.
  • Working knowledge of RTL underwriting, including loan-to-cost, loan-to-value, after-repair value, borrower experience tiers and construction draw processes.
  • Track record of originating or supporting production through brokers, correspondents or investor relationships.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with sales, credit and operations teams.
  • Ability to travel approximately [25]% of the time.

Preferred:

  • Existing relationships with builders, real estate investors, brokers or correspondent lenders.
  • Experience with non-QM, DSCR or business-purpose lending.

How success is measured:

  • Growth in Deephaven-referred construction and fix-and-flip funded production against annual goals.
  • Improved pull-through and turn times on referred loans.
  • Account Executive engagement and adoption across the sales team.
  • Partner and client feedback on communication and responsiveness.
