About The Embody Lab

The Embody Lab is the largest global online learning platform for body-based trauma therapies. We train practitioners worldwide alongside leading faculty, including Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, Dr. Peter Levine, Dr. Scott Lyons, and Dr. Arielle Schwartz. More than 100,000 professionals across 37 countries have trained with us.

Our work spans live workshops, on-demand courses, cohort-based certificates, continuing education, summits, and a thriving membership community. We operate a DTC business model with a growing membership-based subscription.

Our audience includes therapists, coaches, wellness professionals, clinicians, and individuals seeking high-quality somatic education. You do not need a background in somatics, but you should care about the mission and understand how to market thoughtfully where trust matters.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for an entrepreneurial, full-stack growth marketer who has scaled a DTC, membership-based subscription, e-commerce, or digital education business and knows how to own the entire marketing function.

You arrive with a point of view. You read the market, identify where growth will come from, build the strategy, and turn it into a plan you and the team can execute. You do not wait for direction.

You know funnels deeply. You understand the customer journey from acquisition through conversion, retention, upsell, and cross-sell and know how to diagnose where performance is breaking down and fix it.

You are a hands-on leader. You can direct a team, agencies, and specialists while still being willing to open the ad account, review the funnel, rewrite the email, challenge the offer, or fix the page.

Most importantly, you think commercially. You test, measure, learn, and change course based on evidence. You own the numbers and are accountable for growth, enrollment, and revenue.

What You Will Own

Growth Strategy, Portfolio & Revenue

* Own marketing and growth strategy across programs, certificates, membership, summits, live events, and evergreen offers.

* Translate revenue and enrollment goals into leads, registrations, conversion rates, media investment, and campaigns.

* Own positioning, value proposition, audience, pricing, offers, and go-to-market strategy.

* Build enrollment forecasts and identify early when a launch is ahead, on pace, or at risk.

* Own the marketing budget: where we invest, stop, and what we expect it to return.

* Build clear pathways between introductory experiences, certificates, memberships, and advanced offers.

* Use customer insight, market trends, competitive research, and enrollment data to identify portfolio gaps and growth opportunities.

* Use customer and campaign insights to understand why customers enroll, hesitate, convert, and leave.

* Own brand, messaging, organic strategy, faculty/SME marketing, and appropriate accessibility, claims, consent, and privacy standards.

Campaigns, Launches & Creative

* Own the marketing calendar across simultaneous launches, enrollment periods, evergreen campaigns, summits, and live events.

* Develop campaign strategy, creative briefs, messaging, offers, channel plans, and creative direction.

* Direct designers, developers, agencies, and the internal team with clear expectations for what needs to be built, why, and what success looks like.

* Ensure campaigns ship on time and at a high standard across web, email, paid media, organic, and social.

* Maintain quality control across creative, copy, dates, pricing, links, tracking, offers, and enrollment deadlines.

* Lead post-launch reviews and turn performance insights into changes for the next campaign.

Funnels, Lifecycle & Performance Marketing

* Own the customer journey from acquisition through conversion, enrollment, retention, re-engagement, upsell, and cross-sell.

* Design, build, analyze, and continuously improve the full funnel across top, middle, and bottom of funnel.

* Identify customer drop-off across ads, landing pages, offers, checkout, and email journeys and lead the work to fix it.

* Build strategies for distinct customer audiences.

* Own segmentation, offers, messaging, and enrollment paths.

* Own lifecycle strategy across nurture, launch, event reminders, replay, cart abandonment, re-engagement, retention, upsell, and cross-sell.

* Own pricing and promotional strategy, including when to discount and how pricing affects conversion, positioning, and long-term value.

* Establish disciplined testing and CRO across creative, audiences, messaging, offers, pricing, pages, emails, and funnels.

* Use heatmaps, session recordings, A/B testing, and metrics including CPA, LTV, ROAS, CTOR, CTR, CPL, CPM, frequency, and conversion rates to make decisions.

* Connect paid acquisition, website behaviour, email journeys, and enrollment to understand what drives revenue.

Digital, Paid Media & Marketing Technology

* Own the performance and quality of landing pages, program pages, checkout flows, email systems, and marketing technology.

* Lead paid acquisition strategy, campaign setup, and optimization across Meta and Google alongside agency partners.

* Own attribution and multi-touch analysis.

* Maintain analytics, conversion tracking, UTM governance, data governance, and reporting.

* Own CRM architecture, segmentation, lead sources, suppression rules, and lifecycle stages.

* Maintain email deliverability, database health, consent, and engagement standards.

* Bring hands-on technical understanding of GTM, GA4, Google Search Console, pixels, conversion tracking, Cloudflare/DNS, CDP infrastructure, BigQuery, Shopify Plus, and Kajabi.

* Understand HTML, CSS, and Shopify/Liquid well enough to diagnose issues and make or direct changes.

* Lead SEO, AEO, and GEO strategy, including keywords, optimization, backlinks, and related tools.

* Understand organic and social performance and how these channels contribute to the broader funnel.

Partnerships, Affiliates & Customer Experience

* Own affiliate and ambassador programs, identify co-marketing and sponsorship opportunities, and work with Partnerships to turn relationships into measurable growth.

* Oversee CX performance and escalations, ensuring customer experience supports retention and the brand.

* Use CX as a voice-of-customer channel to identify friction, customer needs, and marketing and product opportunities.

Team, Operations & Accountability

* Lead the Marketing & Growth team with clear direction, priorities, standards, accountability, and operating rhythms.

* Direct agencies, freelancers, and specialists and hold them accountable for quality and performance.

* Build scalable marketing workflows, documentation, and processes.

* Report weekly on enrollment, revenue, funnel performance, key metrics, risks, and what needs to change.

* Maintain benchmarks so decisions are based on historical performance, not isolated campaigns.

* Flag problems early. We would rather know what the numbers are telling us before a target is missed.

* Work closely with the Director of Operations so what marketing sells aligns with what the organization can deliver.

* Stay close enough to the work to know when something is not good enough and step in when needed. Leading here does not mean stepping out of the build.

What You Bring

* 8+ years of progressive marketing and growth experience with ownership of revenue, enrollment, or growth targets.

* A proven record of scaling a DTC, membership-based subscription, e-commerce, or digital education business.

* Experience owning marketing end to end: strategy, positioning, GTM, acquisition, funnels, lifecycle, retention, and revenue.

* Deep full-funnel expertise and the ability to identify where performance is breaking down and fix it.

* Strong command of paid media, email, CRM, CRO, organic channels, and website conversion.

* Experience building forecasts, managing marketing budgets, and making data-driven investment decisions.

* Experience leading multiple launches or enrollment cycles simultaneously across different audiences and revenue targets.

* Strong creative and commercial judgment, including writing briefs, directing creative, and evaluating copy and offers.

* Demonstrated leadership of teams, agencies, contractors, and specialists.

* A test-and-learn mindset grounded in data. You know which numbers you are trying to move and why.

* The ability to move comfortably between strategy and execution.

* Comfort working directly with a Founder and strategic advisor while maintaining ownership of the strategy and result.

Nice to Have

* Experience marketing courses, cohort programs, certificates, memberships, summits, or live events.

* Experience in wellness, mental health, education, coaching, or another trust-based category.

* Experience with Shopify Plus, Kajabi, ActiveCampaign, GTM, GA4, and related marketing technology.

* Experience building or scaling affiliate and ambassador programs.

* Strong SEO, AEO, GEO, or content marketing experience.

* Experience using automation and AI to improve marketing efficiency.

How to Apply

Along with your resume, please answer the questions below. Specific answers tell us more than a polished cover letter.

1. How many years of relevant marketing and growth experience do you have, and when are you available to start?

2. What is your desired annual compensation as an independent contractor?

3. Tell us about a growth strategy you developed yourself. What was your read on the market, what did you decide to do, and what results did it produce?

4. Tell us about a funnel you built or significantly improved. What was underperforming, what did you change, and what happened to the numbers? Be clear about what you did yourself versus what your team or an agency executed.

5. Our audience is training in trauma and somatic work. How would you create urgency and drive enrollment without overstating outcomes or compromising trust?
