Our initial focus is developing COMP360 psilocybin, a proprietary, investigational, synthetic psilocybin treatment under evaluation for treatment-resistant depression (TRD) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). COMP360 is a potentially first-in-class treatment and has Breakthrough Therapy designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as well as Innovative Licensing and Access Pathway (ILAP) designation in the UK for TRD. We are leading the world’s largest classic psychedelic clinical program in TRD, and building upon that robust foundation, we are executing a late-stage trial evaluating COMP360 for PTSD, another condition with high unmet need. Our goal is to advance treatments that move the field of psychiatry towards treatment options that offer rapid onset and sustained durability with infrequent dosing. - Compass Pathways Job overview: The Director, Medical Information will lead the strategic development, implementation, and continuous evolution of the Medical Information function in support of COMP360 and future pipeline assets. This individual will be responsible for establishing scalable Medical Information capabilities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scientifically balanced, and compliant medical information to healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers in response to unsolicited requests. The role will provide strategic leadership for Medical Information operations, including content development, systems, processes, vendor management, governance, and operational excellence. Working cross-functionally across Medical Affairs, Scientific Communications, Medical Education, Evidence Generation, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory, Legal, Compliance, and Commercial, this individual will help ensure Medical Information strategies are aligned with broader organizational objectives and evolving scientific priorities. The Director will also be responsible for identifying opportunities to optimize Medical Information processes, leveraging insights from medical inquiries to inform Medical Affairs strategy, and driving innovation through best-in-class technologies, analytics, and service delivery models. Location: Remote in the United States. Reports to: Executive Director, Medical Affairs. Roles and responsibilities ( Include but are not limited to ): Lead the strategic development, implementation, and continuous evolution of the Medical Information function in support of COMP360 and future pipeline assets Develop and execute the Medical Information strategy, operating model, governance, and service delivery approach, including oversight of Medical Information vendor(s) and call center operations Build scalable Medical Information capabilities, including processes, systems, SOPs, and content management, to support evolving Medical Affairs priorities Oversee the development, review, approval, and lifecycle management of scientifically balanced, compliant Medical Information response documents and medical content Partner closely with Scientific Communications, Medical Education, Evidence Generation, Publications, and Field Medical teams to ensure alignment of scientific messaging and Medical Information resources Optimize Medical Information governance, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, industry standards, and internal requirements Enhance and oversee Medical Information metrics, dashboards, and analytics to evaluate operational performance, identify trends, and drive continuous process improvement Analyze medical inquiry trends, insights, and evidence gaps to inform Medical Affairs strategy, scientific communication priorities, and future evidence generation activities Identify and implement innovative technologies, digital capabilities, and operational improvements to enhance Medical Information service delivery and user experience Support Medical-Legal-Regulatory (MLR), and other cross-functional review processes, as appropriate Build and lead a high-performing Medical Information organization by providing strategic leadership, coaching, talent development, and fostering a culture of collaboration, scientific excellence, and continuous improvement Candidate Profile: Education/Experience Requirements: Advanced scientific or medical degree (PharmD, PhD, MD or equivalent) required Experience in neuroscience, psychiatry, CNS, or specialty therapeutics preferred Minimum of 8 years of experience in the biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry Minimum of 6 years of experience in Medical Information, Medical Affairs, Medical Communications, or a related scientific function, with at least 4 years of people leadership and/or management experience Experience building or leading Medical Information capabilities, including strategy, operations, content, and vendor oversight Experience supporting pre-commercial Medical Affairs, commercialization readiness, and/or product launch planning preferred Additional Skills/Experience/Requirements: Demonstrated strategic leadership with exceptional communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills Proven success working in a fast-paced, cross-functional biotechnology or pharmaceutical environment Strong knowledge of applicable FDA regulations and industry guidance governing Medical Information, scientific exchange, adverse event reporting, and product quality complaint reporting Experience developing and implementing Medical Information strategy, operating models, governance, and scalable processes Experience with Medical Information vendors, contact center operations, content management systems, and Medical Information technologies Experience establishing and optimizing Medical Information metrics, dashboards, and analytics to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement Ability to translate medical inquiry trends and insights into actionable Medical Affairs strategies and identify evidence gaps and educational opportunities Demonstrated experience collaborating across Medical Affairs, Scientific Communications, Medical Education, Evidence Generation, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Development, Legal, Compliance, and Commercial organizations Strong scientific writing, content review, and medical review experience Demonstrated leadership in a matrix organization with the ability to influence without direct authority, build consensus, and drive cross-functional initiatives Proven ability to build, develop, and mentor high-performing teams while fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to evolving business needs Ability to travel up to 10% domestically Compensation Description (annually): Our compensation package for permanent hires includes base salary, discretionary bonus, and equity, alongside our comprehensive benefits offering.
