As Director (m/f/d) Digital Product Growth & Green* Products, you are responsible for the commercial development of Ship Green* and for establishing the foundations that enable the broader adoption and scaling of Hapag-Lloyd’s customer-facing digital solutions across the Regions.
The role combines responsibility for coordinating Ship Green*’s commercial growth agenda with responsibility for enabling the growing traction of selected customer-facing digital solutions, with a particular focus on the Quick Quotes Family and Value-Added Services.

*Ship Green is a service that can be added to a Hapag-Lloyd ocean shipment. Hapag-Lloyd uses certified alternative fuels for part of its fuel consumption within its network and allocates the associated emission reductions to booked Ship Green shipments through a Book & Claim approach. This does not necessarily mean that a specific shipment is physically transported on vessels using these alternative fuels. Ship Green 25, 50 and 100 refer to the share of a shipment's energy allocated to certified alternative fuels, not to the percentage of emissions reduced. The numbers currently correspond to Well-to-Wake emission reductions of at least 21%, 42% and 84% compared with conventional transport using very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO). Further information on the methodology and the fuels used is available at hapag-lloyd.com/ship-green.

  • Maintain and enhance the Ship Green* portfolio, including new tools and alternative fuel offerings
  • Coordinate governance, contracts, tariffs and pricing for Ship Green* and monitor performance against targets
  • Engage customers and internal teams to increase market penetration of Ship Green* and report progress to the Board and Sustainability QBR
  • Lead the Digital100 community, fostering best‑practice sharing, alignment on priorities and follow‑up on actions
  • Run timeboxed campaigns to coordinate awareness, commercial activation and customer insight activities for selected digital solutions
  • Provide ad‑hoc growth support to Product Owners, including post‑launch activation, analysis of usage barriers and opportunity deep‑dives
  • Collaborate with UX and other functions to improve collection, analysis and distribution of customer insights for digital products
  • Organize digital events and recurring formats (e.g., Digital Week, weekly sessions) and contribute to Digital Academy 2.0 learning offerings
  • Develop and maintain common frameworks and playbooks to enable scalable adoption from launch to sustainable growth
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Digital Management, Marketing, Technology or related field
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills with a proven record of turning data into measurable business outcomes
  • Deep understanding of sustainability‑driven products and hands‑on commercial experience
  • A proven track record of leading teams, projects or cross-functional initiatives would be highly advantageous
  • Demonstrated ability to drive adoption and scaling of products in a complex, global organization
  • Creative, solution‑oriented mindset with willingness to experiment and challenge the status quo
  • Hands‑on execution focus and proven track record of delivering results
  • Excellent community‑management and stakeholder‑engagement skills, including senior‑level alignment
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; business‑level English proficiency
