Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Client Management

• Lead a portfolio of external client engagements, ensuring exceptional service delivery, client satisfaction, and long-term relationship success.
• Serve as the executive point of contact for key clients, leading financial discussions, resolving complex accounting matters, managing escalations, and building trusted client relationships.
• Partner closely with the firm's Partners on client strategy, service delivery, and business growth initiatives.
• Lead, coach, and develop Accounting Managers and Senior Accounting Managers, fostering a high-performing and accountable team culture.
• Oversee resource planning, workload balancing, and engagement staffing across multiple client teams.

Technical Accounting & Quality

• Provide oversight on complex US GAAP accounting matters, including ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and ASC 842 (Lease Accounting), ensuring consistent application and compliance across all engagements.
• Establish and maintain quality control standards for financial reporting, ensuring financial statements are accurate, complete, and delivered on time.
• Review and approve financial statements, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close deliverables before client delivery.
• Provide guidance on technical accounting matters, complex transactions, and accounting policy decisions.

Operational Excellence

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across accounting workflows, systems, and service delivery processes to improve scalability and efficiency.
• Partner with leadership to develop operational strategies that support firm growth and exceptional client service.
• Monitor engagement performance, client satisfaction, utilization, and delivery metrics while identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Champion technology, automation, and AI-enabled accounting workflows to improve team productivity and service quality.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, mentoring, and succession planning for the accounting organization.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA or CMA designation is strongly preferred
• 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant experience supporting US-based clients
• 8+ years of leadership experience managing Accounting Managers, Senior Accounting Managers, or other accounting leaders
• Strong expertise in US GAAP and technical accounting
• Demonstrated experience with ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and ASC 842 (Lease Accounting)
• Extensive experience overseeing full-cycle accounting and reviewing complex financial statements for external clients
• Strong client-facing experience with the ability to build trusted relationships, confidently lead executive-level discussions, and resolve complex client issues
• Experience managing multiple client engagements with competing priorities while maintaining exceptional service quality
• Proven success developing high-performing accounting teams through coaching, mentoring, and performance management
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar platforms) and QuickBooks
• Strong strategic thinking, organizational, leadership, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
