Summary of the role:

The Director of Client Acquisition & Marketing leads homeowner acquisition for the Single-Family Solar workstream and is accountable for generating and converting enough homeowner interest to achieve annual application, contract, and installation goals.

The Director integrates central marketing, Intake, regional acquisition, referrals, reactivation, and partnerships into one measurable plan. The Director establishes shared targets, priorities, and performance expectations, while functional managers and regional leaders develop and execute strategies for their channels.

Initially, the Director will also lead central marketing strategy and campaign execution, including multiregional digital campaigns, website conversion, email and SMS, paid and social media, and campaign testing. The Director reports to the Single-Family General Manager and directly supervises the Senior Client Acquisition Marketing Coordinator and Intake Team Manager. As resources become available, the Director may hire a Central Client Acquisition Marketing Manager to assume day-to-day campaign leadership.

What you will be doing (essential responsibilities):

  • Develop the annual homeowner acquisition strategy and translate installation goals into lead, qualification, application, and contract targets.
  • Establish targets across central marketing, regional acquisition, reactivation, referral, and partnership channels.
  • Maintain an integrated forecast and coordinate corrective action when lead volume, quality, conversion, or capacity falls below target.
  • Manage, coach, and develop the Senior Client Acquisition Marketing Coordinator, Intake Team Manager, and other direct reports.
  • Initially lead central marketing strategy and campaign execution, including email and SMS, website conversion, paid and social media, multi-region campaigns, regional campaign support, and A/B testing.
  • Establish standards for lead response, qualification, ownership, routing, and handoffs between central and regional teams, such as central Intake and regional enrollment teams.
  • Partner with regional and functional leaders to coordinate channel plans, targets, source tracking, follow-up standards, and performance reviews.
  • Partner with the Data team to maintain funnel definitions, dashboards, forecasts, and source attribution.
  • Communicate performance, risks, and resource needs to leadership and represent client acquisition in planning, budgeting, staffing, and cross-functional decisions.

What Success Looks Like

A successful Director will establish a coordinated acquisition system with shared targets, clear channel ownership, timely lead follow-up, effective conversion, measurable referral and partnership results, and reliable forecasting.

Initially, the Director will also establish a high-performing central marketing campaign portfolio and build the foundation for transitioning day-to-day campaign leadership to a future Central Client Acquisition Marketing Manager.

The acquisition system will produce enough qualified homeowners and signed contracts to support annual solar installation goals.
