Director of Communications and Media (Senior Volunteer)
Remote, Europe | 5 hours per week | Immediate start
Company Description
The European Institute of Professional Intelligence Officers (EIPIO) is Europe’s centre for intelligence education, applied research and professional networking. It brings together intelligence officers, security analysts and investigative professionals from across Europe through conferences, workshops and online forums. EIPIO produces research and practical insight for policymakers, corporate security teams and investigative units, and works with universities, law-enforcement bodies and industry partners. Guided by strong ethical and legal standards, the Institute promotes critical thinking, technical excellence and respect for human rights in intelligence practice.
Role Description
The Director of Communications and Media is a remote senior volunteer role of an estimated 5 hours per week, reporting to the Executive Director. EIPIO’s communications strategy has been drafted, and the Director will finalise it and lead its implementation. This means deciding which audiences across Europe the Institute should prioritise, shaping how we approach universities, professional bodies and partner organisations, and making sure EIPIO’s progress reaches the people it matters to. The Director will be able to explain the purpose and method behind the Institute with confidence, and will agree new outreach with the Executive Director before first contact. The role also covers the communications calendar, institutional announcements, a thought-leadership programme, communications for EIPIO’s journal and research, and media enquiries. The Director works with our Social Media Lead and a Communications and Editorial Assistant.
