About This Role The Director of Corporate Affairs will lead integrated internal and external communications for the U.S. Specialty Franchise, with a specific focus on lupus. Serving as the franchise's strategic communications lead, this individual will develop and execute programs that support business objectives, strengthen corporate reputation, advance disease awareness, and improve patient understanding of treatment options. The successful candidate will bring deep experience supporting pre-launch and launch activities, and translating complex immunologic clinical and scientific information into compelling narratives and messages that resonate with priority stakeholder audiences, including patients, healthcare professionals, advocacy organizations, and media. Leveraging a broad range of channels, including earned media, digital, social media, thought leadership, and stakeholder engagement, the Director will create measurable impact for patients and the business. This individual will also lead innovative patient- and physician-focused campaigns to increase awareness of cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and c and encourage action that improves patient outcomes. Through collaboration with advocacy organizations, professional societies, policy makers, and other partners, the Director will help advance initiatives that support individuals affected by CLE and SLE. The role sits on the U.S. Lupus Leadership Team and is part of the Global Corporate Affairs organization, reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs, North America. What You'll Do Develop and execute integrated, multi-channel communications strategies that support franchise priorities and align with company objectives. Serve as the communications lead for lupus, supporting pre-launch and launch commercial priorities, data milestones, awareness initiatives, and lifecycle management activities. Provide strategic counsel to franchise leadership on messaging, stakeholder engagement, media relations, issues management, and reputation-building opportunities. Partner closely with Commercial, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal, and Corporate Affairs teams to ensure coordinated and compliant execution. Create and execute consumer- and physician-focused campaigns with clear objectives, measurable outcomes, and defined KPIs. Shape and execute engagement strategies and foster relationships with external stakeholders, including patient advocacy organizations, healthcare professional organizations, and digital influencers/opinion leaders, leveraging agency and cross-functional partners to advance disease awareness, education, and patient support initiatives. Partner with Government Affairs, Public Policy, Market Access, and Patient Advocacy colleagues to identify, monitor, and help address policy- and access-related issues that may affect patient access to treatment. Manage agency partners, external consultants, budgets, and performance measurement frameworks to maximize impact. Who You Are You are a strategic communications leader with significant experience partnering with commercial and cross-functional colleagues during pre-launch and launch activities. You have experience working in the lupus space and/or with immunology medicines. You excel at developing impactful communications programs that engage patients, healthcare professionals, advocacy organizations, media, and internal stakeholders. You are an exceptional storyteller who can translate complex science into meaningful, audience-centered narratives. You have a proven track record of leading integrated communications campaigns with measurable outcomes and are comfortable advising senior leaders, influencing cross-functional teams, and building trusted external partnerships. You thrive in fast-paced environments, lead through influence, and successfully align diverse stakeholders around common goals. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or life sciences communications. Significant experience supporting commercialized medicines; experience in lupus preferred, immunology required. Demonstrated expertise in product communications, strategic storytelling, and multi-channel campaign development. Proven success leading consumer and healthcare professional communications programs with measurable goals and outcomes. Experience working within an alliance, co-promotion, or partnership environment strongly preferred. Experience translating clinical, scientific, and medical information into compelling communications that drive engagement and understanding. Strong experience engaging patient advocacy organizations and other external stakeholders. Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and agency management skills. Job Level: Management Additional Information The base compensation range for this role is: $192,000.00-$264,000.00 Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
