Director of Corporate Partnerships - Volunteer
Action ChangeAction Change transforms lives through community-led projects across Africa and Central America. We're looking for a senior corporate partnerships professional with an established business network to build a pipeline of funding partners. Help us grow!
What difference will you make?
Every partnership you bring in funds real, tangible change. Whether it's expanding our coastal restoration work, supporting a farming programme, or getting a new healthcare initiative off the ground, the money and support you secure goes straight into projects that are already proven to work on the ground. You won't be pitching something theoretical. You'll be opening doors for work we're already doing well, and simply don't have the connections to scale.
Right now, our biggest constraint isn't ideas, delivery, or community trust. It's funding and the right introductions. Our small team is focused on delivery, and we don't have anyone with a senior corporate network who can walk into the right room and start a conversation. You would change that instantly. With your network and expertise, we could move from ad hoc, opportunistic support to a genuine pipeline of corporate partners who back us year after year.
Beyond the partnerships you personally secure, you'd be helping us build something longer lasting a proper corporate partnerships function that doesn't currently exist. Right now, every corporate relationship starts from scratch. With your help, we'd build a real pipeline, a track record with businesses, and propositions that get sharper every time you use them. That means your impact doesn't stop with the partners you bring in. It compounds, making every future corporate conversation easier and more successful than the one before.
For you, this is a chance to put a valuable network to direct, visible use. You'll see exactly which communities and projects the funding and support you generate goes towards, and you'll work with a team on the ground who can show you, in real terms, what your introductions made possible.
What are we looking for?
We're looking for a senior, experienced corporate partnerships or business development professional, not someone taking their first steps in the sector. The single most important thing is an established network you should already have relationships with businesses or corporate decision-makers that could realistically become funding partners, rather than a network you'd need to build from nothing.
Beyond that network, we're looking for
A proven track record. You should be able to point to specific corporate partnerships, sponsorships, or business development wins you've personally secured, ideally involving charitable or CSR budgets.
Relationship and negotiation skill. You're comfortable approaching senior stakeholders, structuring propositions that work for both sides, and negotiating terms through to a signed agreement.
Commercial understanding. You understand how businesses think about CSR, sponsorship, and partnership value, and you can translate our impact into a proposition that makes commercial as well as moral sense to a corporate audience.
Project and time management. You'll be managing multiple relationships at different stages simultaneously. We need someone who can manage that without anything slipping, bringing their own structure and discipline to the role.
Genuine independence. This is a self-directed role. You'll have full access to our team, our data, and our stories, but you won't have someone checking in on you daily. We need someone who sets their own priorities and targets and is comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy.
Above all, we're looking for someone who wants to put a valuable network to direct use for a cause they believe in, and who's excited by the challenge of building a corporate partnerships function from a strong base rather than from nothing. If that's you, we'd love to hear from you.

What will you be doing?
Action Change is an international, community-led development charity, currently active across Southern Africa and Central America. We're small in number but mighty in impact our on-the-ground programmes, from coastal restoration to education and healthcare, are transforming communities who own and lead the change themselves. We've been doing this work for over 20 years, and we know it works. What we're missing is a senior corporate partnerships professional who can open the right doors for us.
That's where you come in.
We're looking for someone to build and lead our corporate partnerships strategy, ideally bringing an existing network of business contacts rather than starting from a cold list. You'll take ownership of the full partnership cycle identifying the right companies, activating relationships to open conversations, and structuring propositions that work for both sides.
Day to day, this means
This is a genuinely senior, strategic role, not an entry point into fundraising or business development. We're looking for someone who has already led corporate partnerships or business development elsewhere, who moves comfortably among senior corporate stakeholders, and who can work independently without needing close oversight. If you've spent years building this exact network and skill set and are looking for a cause where it will make a visible, direct difference, we'd love to hear from you.
The time commitment is flexible and entirely self-directed. This can be worked around an existing career, in the hours that suit you, from wherever you are.
