Job Description

Ready to take your career global?

Make your mark at one of the biggest names in payments. We’re looking for a Director of Data Governance Operations to join our ever evolving Data Trust & Data Risk team and help shape the future of global commerce. You’ll lead the enterprise execution capabilities that turn data governance standards, controls and risk requirements into simple, scalable and measurable operations, making it easier for teams across Global Payments to manage data responsibly and effectively. By creating streamlined governance experiences, increasing automation and strengthening accountability, you’ll influence how governance works across the enterprise while improving transparency, reducing operational friction and accelerating decision-making. This is an opportunity to shape the future of data governance at scale and build the trusted data foundation Global Payments needs to innovate, grow and deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients.

What you’ll own

  • Transform enterprise data governance into a scalable operating model that turns Data Trust and Data Risk requirements into clear, consistent and measurable experiences, improving how governance moves from initial request through resolution.
  • Drive governance performance and accountability by establishing effective intake, workflow orchestration, stewardship and escalation practices that improve cycle times, reduce bottlenecks and deliver timely outcomes.
  • Accelerate governance through automation and technology by shaping tooling, workflow automation and integrations that reduce manual effort, strengthen control execution and enable governance to scale with the business.
  • Create actionable visibility into governance performance by establishing meaningful key performance indicators (KPIs), operational metrics and executive scorecards that surface risk, aging, coverage and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead the evolution of governance operations by influencing adoption, enabling stakeholders and continuously improving processes, playbooks and operating practices that increase governance maturity across the enterprise.

What you’ll bring

  • Proven leadership in enterprise data governance, data risk or governance operations, with demonstrated success translating standards, controls and decision criteria into scalable operating practices.
  • Strong experience designing and improving governance operating models, including intake, workflow orchestration, stewardship, exception management, remediation and cross-functional governance processes.
  • Demonstrated success using technology and automation to improve governance, including workflow platforms, reporting solutions, operational dashboards or integrations such as ServiceNow.
  • Strong analytical and operational leadership capabilities, with the ability to use metrics, insights and performance indicators to identify bottlenecks, improve outcomes and drive accountability.
  • An enterprise mindset and influential leadership style, with the ability to align cross-functional stakeholders, enable adoption and lead complex governance transformation initiatives from strategy through operational readiness.

It’s a bonus if you have

  • Experience leading enterprise-wide governance transformation or maturity initiatives across complex, highly distributed organizations.
  • A track record of identifying and implementing workflow automation and process optimization opportunities that simplify governance and improve scalability.
  • Experience developing governance enablement programs, playbooks and stakeholder communications that strengthen adoption and create a consistent governance experience.
