Job Summary The Director of Enterprise Technology serves as the single, accountable owner of all information technology and enterprise applications across American Bible Society (ABS). The role holds end-to-end responsibility for ABS's technology operations, infrastructure, and its full portfolio of enterprise business systems, ensuring they run reliably and securely and are aligned to the mission. ABS delivers much of its day-to-day IT operations, cybersecurity, and infrastructure through a comprehensive managed services agreement with a managed service provider (MSP); the Director is the designated primary point of contact for that engagement and holds the provider accountable to its contractual commitments and service levels. At the same time, the Director owns the enterprise application layer that sits above and depends on that infrastructure, including ERP, CRM, HRIS, collaboration, analytics, e-commerce, and the integrations that connect them. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, this role combines enterprise application ownership, vendor and contract management, service delivery oversight, cybersecurity and risk coordination, financial stewardship, and internal technology leadership. This person will work in close collaboration with the Director of Technology Operations. Minimum Spiritual and Personal Commitment Demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ. Identify with and participate in a Christian church and proactively seek to grow in their Christian faith. Actively participate in organizational prayer, devotional times, and organization-wide events. Maintain an exemplary standard of Christian ethics, behavior, and conduct within ABS and in their public and private life outside of ABS and always seek to uphold ABS' Standards of Conduct and Affirmation of Biblical Community. Demonstrate Christian maturity in all interactions as displayed by good judgment based on biblical values and principles. Actively incorporate their faith in all aspects of their daily work. Demonstrate desire and ability to support organizational biblical and religious goals and participate in regular work-related spiritual activities without reservation. Have a personal passion for and belief in the Word of God, its ability to transform lives, and the mission of American Bible Society. Demonstrate alignment with the vision, mission, and values of American Bible Society. Key Responsibilities Enterprise Applications Ownership: Serve as the accountable owner for the full portfolio of ABS enterprise applications, including ERP and financial systems (for example NetSuite, Vena, ADP), CRM and donor systems (for example Salesforce, HubSpot), HRIS, collaboration platforms (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace), analytics and reporting, project and work management tools, and e-commerce. Own the application lifecycle from evaluation and selection through implementation, configuration, adoption, optimization, and retirement, and maintain application roadmaps in partnership with business owners. Application Governance and Business Analysis: Establish and enforce application and platform governance so that no system is procured, built, or deployed without appropriate review and sign-off. Lead business systems analysis and requirements definition, chair application steering committees and super-user networks (for example the Salesforce Steering Committee), and manage SaaS license rationalization to control cost, redundancy, and shadow IT. IT Operations and MSP Governance: Serve as ABS's designated primary point of contact for the managed service provider. Lead the weekly operational and monthly strategic review cadence, oversee infrastructure and cloud operations (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform), networking, endpoint and device management, and helpdesk delivered through the MSP, and drive timely resolution of issues and escalations. Service Delivery and SLA Oversight: Monitor MSP performance against the Service Level Agreement, including the 99.9% monthly uptime commitment, validate reported performance against independent evidence, and enforce ABS's rights to service credits. Oversee helpdesk quality and user lifecycle management (onboarding, changes, and secure offboarding) and translate service metrics into clear reporting for the CTO and senior leadership. Integrations, Data, and Reporting: Oversee the integration architecture connecting enterprise systems (for example NetSuite to Salesforce and Boomi workflows) and the data flows between them, ensuring reliable synchronization and data integrity. Maintain data quality, master data, and cross-system access controls, ensure business intelligence and reporting meet organizational needs, and keep architecture and integration documentation current and controlled by ABS. Cybersecurity, Risk, and Compliance: Own the MSP's cybersecurity service delivery in coordination with the provider's virtual CISO and Security Operations Center. Partner with the Director of Enterprise Risk Management on incident response, quarterly access reviews, vulnerability and patch management, the annual cyber insurance application, IT audits, and disaster recovery and business continuity testing, ensuring alignment with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and ABS security policies. Financial, Contract, and Vendor Management: Manage the IT and enterprise application budget, including the MSP fee, SaaS and licensing costs, and implementation and support contracts. Manage vendor relationships, service levels, renewals, and vendor risk assessments, validate that billed services and license spend match delivered value, and lead the analysis and recommendation for the upcoming MSP renewal or insourcing decision. Strategic Technology Leadership: Translate ABS's mission and strategic goals into technology and application priorities, advise the CTO and senior leadership on technology decisions and emerging tools, contribute to multi-year technology strategy and the long-term IT operating model, and ensure ABS retains the internal knowledge, administrative control, and continuity needed to avoid over-dependence on any single vendor. Supervisory Responsibilities: Coordinate direct and indirect supervisory responsibilities for up to 20 staff following the ministry's policies, procedures, and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining staff, gathering feedback, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (for example PMP, ITIL, CISM, CISSP, Salesforce, NetSuite, or cloud provider certifications) preferred. Experience: Seven or more years of progressive IT experience required, including at least three years managing IT operations, enterprise applications, vendors, or a managed service provider, with demonstrated ownership of service level agreements, contracts, and escalations. Technical Skills: Working knowledge across cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP), identity and access management, endpoint and network management, and cybersecurity; hands-on familiarity with enterprise applications such as NetSuite, Salesforce, and Microsoft 365; experience with systems integration and data management; and fluency with IT service management (for example ITIL) and security frameworks (for example the NIST CSF).
