Director of Information Technology Apply Apply Description Job Title : Director of Information Technology Location: Remote Department: Administration Reports To : Chief Information Officer Employment Type: Full-time, Exempt Travel Required: Yes, up to 15% Salary Range: $136,000-$151,000 Summary The Director of Information Technology will be responsible for overseeing BetterHealth’s internal IT systems, infrastructure, integration, and support services. This role involves strategic planning, operational leadership, and people management, ensuring technology enables all departments to operate efficiently and securely. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mix of technical acumen, leadership experience, and a service-oriented mindset. Essential Duties and Responsibilities · IT Infrastructure and Integration Management o Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of secure and scalable IT infrastructure and external integrations. o Ensure high availability, performance, and security across all systems. o Oversee enterprise cloud platforms and services, including Microsoft 365 and AWS, ensuring secure, reliable, and cost-effective operations. o Manage vendor relationships and licensing agreements, ensuring smooth operations, security compliance, and cost efficiency. o Oversee provisioning and lifecycle management of hardware, software, and user access. o Establish and maintain business continuity, backup, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure organizational resilience and operational continuity. · End-User Support & Systems Optimization o Ensure timely and effective support for both internal and external users. o Implement systems and tools that enhance employee productivity and security. o Coordinate the implementation of system enhancements, product maintenance and support, upgrades, updates, and patches. · Technology Strategy & Systems Implementation o Collaborate with senior leadership to align IT strategy with organizational goals. o Evaluate, select, and implement internal tools and systems. o Identify and drive opportunities for automation and process improvement. o Develop and maintain technology roadmaps for infrastructure modernization, cloud services, cybersecurity, and end-user computing. o Evaluate emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, automation platforms, and workflow optimization tools, ensuring appropriate governance, security, and business value. · Team Leadership & People Management o Lead, mentor, and develop the information technology staff, including infrastructure engineers, interface analysts, and internal IT support staff. o Develop team structure, performance goals, and professional development paths. o Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and service excellence. · Security & Compliance o Ensure compliance with healthcare privacy and security regulations, including HIPAA, PCI, and organizational data governance requirements. o Recommend, draft, and update information technology standard operating procedures. o Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support audits, risk management initiatives, and cybersecurity insurance requirements. o Partner with Compliance and Information Security teams on audits and incident response plans. Supervisory Responsibilities This position manages the Infrastructure Manager, Integration Manager, and Service Desk Analyst roles, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Education and/or Experience · Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred). · 8+ years of progressive experience in IT, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership or director-level role. · Proven experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure and internal support operations. · Experience leading cloud-based technology environments, including Microsoft 365 and AWS. · Experience supporting regulated healthcare environments and compliance frameworks such as HIPAA. · Experience managing technology vendors, software licensing, professional services relationships, and technology budgets. Skills Required · Strong leadership and people management skills; experience building and mentoring high-performing teams. · Solid understanding of ITIL practices, cybersecurity, and systems integration. · Server administration and cloud engineering experience, preferably with AWS. · Experience administering and governing Microsoft 365 technologies, including Microsoft Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Intune. · Experience with identity and access management, Zero Trust security principles, MFA, conditional access, and endpoint management. · Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities. Preferred · Experience utilizing Confluence and Jira for document management, project management, and ticketing. · Experience administering enterprise identity and access management platforms, including Okta and Microsoft Entra ID, with responsibility for SSO, MFA, user provisioning, lifecycle management, conditional access, and application integration. · Experience implementing AI-enabled productivity solutions such as Microsoft Copilot and related governance practices. · Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (e.g., HL7 and FHIR APIs).
