Position Summary:
The Director of IT will be responsible for management of the organization’s technology infrastructure, security and DevOps, to include networking, telecommunications, systems administration and service desk administration. This role will partner with functional leaders to understand their current/future needs to drive and grow the business. This role is crucial in supporting a fast-paced Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) environment, emphasizing scalability, innovation and efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the organization’s AI innovation and implementation strategy, partnering with cross-functional leaders to identify, prioritize, and deploy secure, scalable, and responsible AI solutions that improve operational efficiency, employee productivity, customer experience, and business performance
- Develop and implement advanced IT strategies that are aligned with the company’s short- and long-term business goals
- Conduct reviews for peers and subordinates around architecture and design and evaluate the quality of IT deliverables
- Lead initiatives to modernize and digitize processes, leveraging emerging technologies to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency
- Manage project assignments and workload for team members, manage requirements and recommendations for purchases of software and hardware
- Manage the IT, ERP, Development and IT Q/A teams, including budget and performance, systems upgrades, etc
- Improve company efficiency and workflow through the deployment of effective IT tools
- Evaluate, develop and implement IT policies and procedures and equipment for maximum efficiency and cost containment
- Develop and maintain company Disaster Recovery Plan
- Collaborate and work directly with departments and the computer security team to implement and enforce applicable regulations and policies; SOX, PCI, and more
- Own networking responsibilities, including but not limited to managing Cisco/Meraki switches and firewalls, configuring new equipment, upgrading old equipment, and maintaining working knowledge of ACLs, VLANs, Port configuration, and LAN to LAN technology, including the relationships with third party service vendors
- Through the management of third party IT service providers
- Provide backup administration functions through various methods including Veeam, Scripts, and Windows backups to include setting up backup processes and verification processes; perform failure monitoring and recovery procedures
- Monitor and respond to system alerts to ensure performance and a high-performing, stable production and development environment
- Ensure quality and profitable services are performed as per the agreed SLA
- Participate in a 24x7 on call rotation and respond to outages related to network infrastructure and services
- Escalate support issues to third parties, as needed
- Provide regular project status reports
- Predict project risk factors and address proactively
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must have 10+ years of technology infrastructure experience
- Minimum 5+ years of supervisory experience
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field
- Must have 5+ years of experience administering medium-scale networks on Windows platforms
- Demonstrated skill with server virtualization, Internet Protocol (IPV4/6), Palo Alto, Cisco, and Meraki network administration and troubleshooting, Nav/Business Central, Office365 and Active Directory
- Knowledge of network security software, end user device security software
- Minimum 5 years of operational management experience supporting cloud deployments in one of the following environments: AWS and Azure
- Excellent planning and project management skills
- Self-starter with a high level of initiative and strong sense of ownership
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of IT budget principles
Working Environment:
- Fast-paced work environment which requires creativity and adaptability
- Daily interaction with various departments via written, verbal, and electronic communications
- Ability to work some evenings and a few weekends
