The Master of Science in Clinical Informatics Management (MCiM) is a degree program combining medicine, business and technology, and prepares leaders to oversee and implement novel uses of technology within healthcare. Currently the MCiM program offers admittance to 25 students each year. The Director of Marketing and Admissions works under direction from the program’s Faculty Director. This role requires a high degree of independent initiative and leadership, providing strategic and operational oversight to further evolve and scale the program by translating the Faculty Director’s vision into measurable enrollment and program outcomes. The incumbent will own the end-to-end marketing and recruitment strategy, convert data into actionable insights that identify gaps, inform recommendations, and drive continuous improvement; and elevate program visibility through on-campus engagement, strategic partnerships with Stanford Health Care leadership, and targeted external employer outreach to strengthen recruitment and placement pipelines. Success requires operational excellence, strong situational awareness and judgment, and the ability to anticipate and address program challenges that impact enrollment and candidate quality, and overall program outcomes.
Duties include:
Marketing/Recruiting
• Independently develop strategic marketing and recruitment plans to meet program goals for filling multi-year applicant pipelines and attracting highly qualified candidates with high application completion rates.
• Create and direct all marketing communication strategies including social media efforts, website development, and live & online recruitment events (webinars, podcasts, panel discussions).
• Collect and analyze marketing pipeline and outcomes data. Evaluate effectiveness against recruitment/admissions goals and revise marketing strategies to address gaps and improve results
Admissions
• Oversee the planning and execution of annual admissions processes and timelines. Oversee the screening process to ensure minimum university requirements are met including visa status as needed. Manage the Admissions Committee: recruit and train members, host admissions meetings, establish protocols, execute interview scheduling processes, and review member feedback to determine admission recommendations.
• Compile student finalist’s profile data and facilitate discussions with Faculty Director to finalize admissions decisions.
• Debrief and analyze the annual admissions cycle operations feedback from applicant experiences, Admissions Committee, and team. Develop and execute quality improvement initiatives to enhance systems, materials, presentations, website interface, etc.
Outreach
• Represent the MCiM program in internal stakeholder meetings within Stanford Medicine to raise awareness of the program, to recruit students, and to collaborate with academic and clinical units in leadership development, faculty recruitment and faculty retention
• Represent the MCiM program with local employers and employers in AI and related fields to help recruit and place students.
• Oversee all interactions with prospective students including hosting events, answering questions, and providing them with informational guidance about academic requirements and application procedures.
• Execute fundraising plan, including planning and hosting events, communications, collaborating with the Development Office and the Faculty Director
• Create, influence and execute alumni engagement plan, including planning and hosting events, communications, administering the LinkedIn group. Create avenues to receive feedback from alumni and make adjustments to the plan in response
Management
• Develop and manage overall program budget/forecast leveraging historical and real-time actual financial data. Analyze budget trends and advise Faculty Director on program and/or process changes to maximize budget and mitigate risk.
• Support classes, events, conferences, seminars by providing in-person, on campus logistical support
• Oversee performance management of 2 direct report staff members.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Master’s degree preferred in higher education administration, public health, health informatics, business, management, communications, or a related field; or a combination of education and progressively responsible experience.
Strong marketing and recruitment experience, including development of multi-channel campaigns (web, email, social media, webinars/events), marketing analysis tools, vendor/consultant management, and editorial oversight of program collateral.
5 plus years of experience managing complex programs, operations, or administrative services in an academic, healthcare, or similarly matrixed environment.
Demonstrated experience leading graduate admissions operations, including application review workflows, committee support, candidate communications, yield strategy, and process improvement.
Data-driven approach to program growth: experience analyzing recruitment funnel metrics, outcomes, and trends; producing dashboards or reports; and translating insights into strategy and execution.

Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
