Director of Permanent Placement
Location: Remote – United States
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $100,000–$125,000 base salary plus uncapped performance compensation
Target Total Compensation: $400,000–$575,000+
The Opportunity
PX3 Medical is a growing healthcare recruitment company specializing in difficult-to-fill physician, advanced practice provider and healthcare leadership searches.
We are looking for a Director of Permanent Placement who can personally deliver results while helping us build a larger and more productive permanent placement team.
This is not a role for someone who wants to manage from a distance. Initially, you will work searches, engage candidates, manage client relationships and help close placements yourself. At the same time, you will help recruit, train and lead additional team members as the division grows.
The right person will be equally comfortable producing individually, coaching others, improving processes and helping develop the strategy required to scale.
What You Will Own
- Personally manage and fill permanent physician, APP and healthcare leadership searches.
- Develop strong candidate pipelines through direct sourcing, outreach, networking and referrals.
- Manage candidates from initial contact through screening, presentation, interviews, offer and acceptance.
- Build trusted relationships with healthcare clients and understand the operational problems behind each search.
- Hire, train and coach recruiters and sourcing professionals.
- Establish clear productivity, activity, quality and placement expectations.
- Review team performance and intervene when searches or individual contributors fall behind.
- Improve recruiting systems, workflows, scripts, reporting and accountability.
- Partner with company leadership on growth strategy, hiring plans and market expansion.
- Help create a permanent placement operation that can scale without sacrificing candidate or client quality.
What We Are Looking For
- Demonstrated success in permanent healthcare staffing, physician recruitment, executive search or a closely related field.
- Strong personal production history.
- Experience managing or mentoring recruiters.
- Ability to work in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment.
- Comfortable being measured against production, revenue, search progress and team performance.
- Strong communication, negotiation and closing skills.
- Experience working remotely and managing priorities without excessive structure.
- A builder’s mindset: you see gaps, develop solutions and take ownership.
Experience recruiting physicians, APPs or healthcare executives is strongly preferred.
How Success Will Be Measured
Success will include your personal search production, placement revenue, team development, search velocity, candidate quality, client satisfaction and the overall growth of the permanent placement division.
