About the Job:

The Director Security Operations is responsible for security solutions for clients. The Squad Leader will demonstrate the capacity to meet and exceed client expectations representing and strengthening the Cyderes brand through positive interaction with other teams within the company. You will direct a squad consisting of an SOC managers, analysts providing 24/7 monitoring and response, and senior analysts that serve in a customer-facing advisory capacity.

The Director, DOC will report to VP, Cyderes Defense.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and mentor SOC managers, analysts, and security operations teams.
  • Oversee 24x7 security monitoring, threat detection, investigation, and incident response operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement across SOC processes, technology, automation, detection, and operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate and adopt AI, machine learning, agentic AI, and other latest technologies to enhance threat detection, investigation, analyst productivity, and security operations.
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI-driven automation and thoughtful workflows to improve response times, reduce analyst workload, and strengthen security outcomes.
  • Establish and monitor operational KPIs, SLAs, incident metrics, and service quality to ensure consistent security outcomes.
  • Partner with Threat Intelligence, Detection Engineering, Customer Success, and other Cyderes security teams to strengthen overall security operations.
  • Be the senior escalation point for significant security incidents, operational challenges, and customer concerns.
  • Support the continued growth, scale, and evolution of Cyderes' MDR and Security Operations capabilities.

    • Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in a SOC, MDR, MXDR, or Security Operations environment.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience at the Manager, Senior Manager, or Director level within SOC, MDR/MXDR, or Security Operations.
  • Experience with SIEM, EDR/XDR, threat detection, incident response, security operations, and security automation.
  • Experience applying AI/ML, generative AI, agentic AI, or other latest AI methodologies to improve security operations, detection, investigation, automation, or analyst productivity.
  • Proven experience leading large and geographically distributed security teams.
  • Experience operating in a customer-facing leadership role, with the ability to engage with customers and senior partners.
  • Demonstrated experience improving SOC performance, operational processes, automation, and security outcomes.
  • Experience with latest cybersecurity technologies and the ability to assess and translate them into practical operational capabilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC certifications (GCIH, GCIA, GCED, or similar), or other recognized cybersecurity certifications.
  • Experience working with major SIEM, EDR/XDR, SOAR, cloud security, and threat intelligence platforms.
  • Experience building or scaling AI-enabled SOC capabilities, including autonomous or semi-autonomous investigation, alert triage, threat hunting, and incident response workflows.
