This role can be based near any one of our offices. It is strategic and leadership-focused, with accountability for recruiting strategy, workforce planning, process governance, vendor management, and the quality and consistency of hiring outcomes firm-wide. Reporting to the Firmwide Managing Partner / Managing Director (COO), you will set the firm’s recruiting approach, direct day-to-day recruiting operations and any supporting talent acquisition staff, and serve as the senior point of accountability for hiring across offices.

What You Will Do

Lead firm-wide talent acquisition as well as:

  • Set and own the firm’s talent acquisition strategy across all offices and practice groups.
  • Partner with firm leadership and office managing partners to translate growth objectives into prioritized hiring plans.
  • Define firm-wide recruiting policies, standards, and workflows, and hold the function accountable to them.
  • Forecast hiring demand, manage the requisition pipeline, and balance recruiting capacity across offices.
  • Direct the full recruiting lifecycle from requisition intake through offer acceptance for attorney and professional staff roles.
  • Lead intake sessions with hiring partners, defining scope, qualifications, scorecards, and sourcing strategy for each search.
  • Conduct recruiter screens and finalist assessments, and guide hiring committees toward consistent, well-documented decisions.
  • Structure and lead offer, compensation, and employment-agreement negotiations within approved parameters.
  • Ensure hiring practices comply with firm policy and applicable employment laws across all jurisdictions.
  • Own the preferred-supplier framework, including agency selection, standardized fee terms, and candidate-ownership rules.
  • Negotiate and manage recruiting agency agreements and hold vendors accountable to contracted terms and performance.
  • Monitor recruiter spend, usage, and return on investment, and report outcomes to firm leadership.
  • Partner with HR, operations, IT, office management, and hiring managers on a consistent, high-quality new-hire transition across offices.
  • Supervise, develop, and direct talent acquisition staff and recruiting support resources.
  • Maintain and continuously improve recruiting processes, templates, scorecards, and the firm’s applicant tracking system.

What You Will Bring

Our ideal candidate will have 7–10+ years of relevant experience and the following credentials/skills:

  • Progressive full-cycle recruiting experience, including a minimum of 2–3 years in a leadership or management role, in a law firm or professional services environment (prior law firm experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience owning recruiting strategy, workforce planning, or a firm-wide or multi-office hiring function.
  • Proven experience managing external search firms, negotiating fee agreements, and controlling agency spend.
  • Experience leading offer and compensation negotiations for professional or attorney-level roles.
  • Experience implementing or administering an applicant tracking system and recruiting analytics.
  • Experience recruiting attorneys at multiple levels (associate, of counsel, and lateral partner) is helpful but not required.
