All about the role:
Reporting to the Head (VP) of Product Strategy & Planning– Care, the Director Product Strategy & Innovation – Dish Washing leads the end‑to‑end global category strategy and innovation agenda for dish washing categories, shaping the 1–5‑year vision, portfolio, and roadmap across regions. The role defines where to play and how to win by translating consumer, market, and technology insights into scalable product platforms, differentiated experiences, and a focused innovation pipeline that drives sustainable growth, margin improvement, and competitive advantage.
This role requires a highly analytical, consumer‑centric, and outcome‑driven leader with deep expertise in category strategy, innovation management, and cross‑functional integration. Success depends on the ability to balance global scale with regional relevance, manage complexity, and mobilize diverse stakeholders across Product, R&D, Experience, Marketing, Operations, and Commercial teams.
What you will do:
Lead Dish Washing category strategy and roadmap
- Define and execute the global dish washing category strategy and multi‑year roadmap, aligned with Regional Care and Group ambitions.
- Consolidate RPL inputs into consistent Product Plans
- Challenge RPL BCs and scoping for new product requests as part of prioritization & category strategy.
- Set clear where‑to‑play and how‑to‑win choices, including platform strategy, modularity principles, and complexity corridors.
- Consolidate competitive insights, consumer trends, technology trends and industrial footprint considerations to support strategic decision‑making.
Drive innovation and portfolio leadership
- Own the Dish Washing Innovation Roadmap and Technology Roadmap Management (TRM), including democratization and sustainability priorities.
- Own the Product attribute profile defining Tickets‑to‑Win (BIC) and Tickets‑to‑Play and translate them into experience ambitions, and technology requirements.
- Lead category‑level opportunity assessment, portfolio prioritization, and investment recommendations into governance forums.
- Front‑load experience‑led global concepts in collaboration with Regional Product Lines (RPLs) and innovation triangles as well as with strategic partnership – in alignment with ecosystem
Platform, architecture, and complexity management
- Lead the development of scalable product platforms and modular architectures adaptable across geographies.
- Balance global standardization with regional differentiation to maximize speed, relevance, and profitability.
- Define and govern category design rules and complexity targets, as well as make versus buy decisions.
Cross‑functional and regional integration
- Act as integrator across R&D, Experience & Claims, Ecosystem, Connectivity, Marketing, Operations, Procurement, and Commercial teams.
- Govern cross‑regional councils and forums to ensure consistent standards, fast opportunity sharing, and effective decision‑making.
- Ensure alignment between product, technology, digital, and service roadmaps.
Performance, sustainability, and value creation
- Monitor category performance, innovation vitality, and competitive position; adjust strategy based on data and insights.
- Embed sustainability targets into Dish Washing strategies (e.g. energy labels, recycled content, Scope 3 contribution).
- Drive value creation through focused portfolios, platform reuse, valu based innovation and complexity reduction.
Who you are:
- Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field; MBA as a plus.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in product strategy, category management, innovation, or related roles within consumer goods or durable products.
- Demonstrated influencing skills with the ability to unify and align diverse inputs, engaging with senior leadership and providing strategic direction.
- Proven track record of defining and executing successful global category or platform strategies with strong commercial impact.
- Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to translate complex data into clear strategic direction.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and align senior stakeholders in a complex, matrixed organization.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross‑collaboration skills.
- Deep experience in consumer insights, innovation portfolio management, and platform‑based product development.
- Fluent English, written and spoken.
