The Role

We're looking for a Director of Strategic Alliances to help accelerate Benepass's growth through our consultant and brokerage ecosystem.

Reporting to the Head of Strategic Alliances, you'll own relationships with some of the most influential consulting and brokerage firms in the employee benefits industry. You'll develop strategic growth plans, deepen executive relationships, and create joint go-to-market initiatives that increase Benepass's visibility and generate upmarket pipeline.

This is a highly strategic individual contributor role for someone who enjoys building executive relationships, identifying new growth opportunities, and influencing strategy while remaining hands-on. You'll operate with significant autonomy while partnering closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and Executive Leadership.

What You'll Do

Develop Strategic Partnerships

  • Own a portfolio of Benepass's highest-value consulting and brokerage relationships

  • Partner with the Head of Strategic Alliances to develop and execute strategic account plans that deepen relationships and drive long-term growth

  • Build trusted relationships with executive stakeholders, innovation leaders, practice leaders, and regional leadership across priority consulting organizations

  • Identify and cultivate new strategic partnerships that expand Benepass's presence within the benefits ecosystem

Drive Revenue Growth

  • Develop and execute strategies that increase consultant-generated pipeline and enterprise revenue

  • Partner closely with Sales and Sales Leadership on consultant-influenced opportunities and key enterprise pursuits

  • Lead executive business reviews and strategic planning sessions with consulting partners

  • Negotiate preferred vendor agreements and other strategic partnership opportunities where appropriate

Lead Joint Go-To-Market Efforts

  • Collaborate with Marketing to deliver joint campaigns, events, webinars, thought leadership, and field enablement programs

  • Develop education strategies that strengthen consultant understanding of Benepass's platform and differentiated value proposition

  • Represent Benepass at industry conferences, executive meetings, and partner events

  • Identify opportunities to expand Benepass's influence across consultant organizations and regional offices

Influence Cross-Functional Strategy

  • Serve as the voice of strategic partners internally by sharing market insights, competitive intelligence, and customer feedback

  • Partner with Product to communicate emerging market needs and consultant feedback

  • Collaborate with Customer Success to strengthen relationships within existing consultant-managed customers

  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product, Finance, and Customer Success to maximize partnership impact

Measure Business Impact

  • Own consultant partnership performance against pipeline and revenue goals

  • Develop quarterly business plans and success metrics for strategic partners

  • Regularly present partnership performance, market trends, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership

What We’re Looking For

  • 8-10+ years of experience in strategic alliances, consultant relations, business development, and/or enterprise sales

  • Demonstrated success developing executive-level relationships that drive measurable business growth

  • Deep understanding of the employee benefits ecosystem, including consultants, brokers, carriers, or HR technology

  • Experience developing and executing strategic partnership plans with measurable business outcomes

  • Strong commercial mindset with a track record of influencing pipeline and revenue

  • Excellent executive presence and communication skills, with experience presenting to senior stakeholders

  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority

  • Highly self-motivated and comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

  • Willingness to travel approximately 40%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing relationships with leaders at firms such as Mercer, Aon, WTW, Gallagher, Lockton, or similar organizations

  • Experience working at a high-growth SaaS, fintech, HR technology, or employee benefits company

  • Experience working at a national consulting or brokerage firm

  • Knowledge of employee benefits, lifestyle spending accounts, pre-tax benefits, or health benefits administration

  • Experience with Salesforce, Outreach, Google Workspace, and modern sales technologies

In your first year, you’ll:

  • Develop strategic account plans for Benepass's highest-priority consulting partners

  • Expand executive relationships across national consulting organizations

  • Launch new joint go-to-market initiatives with strategic partners

  • Strengthen Benepass's position as a preferred innovation partner within the benefits consulting ecosystem

  • Deliver measurable business impact through strategic partnerships that contribute to company growth

  • Base Salary $160,000 to 180,000 + variable + equity

Range(s) is subject to change. Benepass takes a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including market comparables, interview performance, peer compensation, and years of experience.
