How you’ll make an impact

Lead FCC’s total rewards function, with accountability across compensation, performance management, job evaluation and architecture, pension, benefits, wellness, disability management, payroll oversight, and related policy and governance.

As Director, Total Rewards, you’ll oversee the implementation and ongoing operation of FCC’s job architecture and compensation structure, support employees through related changes and strengthen policies, decision rights, governance and exception-management standards.

If you’re a seasoned total rewards leader who is collaborative, adaptable and skilled at engaging teams and guiding complex initiatives, this could be the role for you.

What you’ll do

  • Oversee the modernization and ongoing operation of FCC’s job architecture and compensation structure, including employee communication and support
  • Establish and maintain clear policies, governance, decision rights, delegation of authority and exception-management processes that support consistent, timely decisions
  • Provide strategic leadership across compensation, performance management, job evaluation and architecture, pension, benefits, wellness, disability management, payroll oversight, pay equity and employment equity
  • Lead, support and engage a geographically dispersed team, including leaders responsible for pension, benefits, compensation and payroll
  • Set priorities, clarify accountability and delegate effectively while maintaining oversight of standards, escalations and key initiatives
  • Partner with Finance and other stakeholders on pension responsibilities, payroll requirements, position planning, regulatory obligations and organization-wide initiatives
  • Maintain sustainable operating practices that keep total rewards programs competitive, cost effective, aligned with corporate goals and compliant with policy, legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Manage and oversee vendor relationships and performance as it relates to program management

What you’ll bring to the team

Required qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in administration, commerce or human resources
  • Minimum eight years of extensive total rewards expertise spanning compensation, benefits, pension, job architecture, wellness, performance management, policy and governance and five years of formal leadership experience managing direct reports (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Strong knowledge of pay equity, employment equity, pension, benefits, tax, human rights and other relevant legal and regulatory requirements
  • Understanding of payroll inputs, outputs and partnership requirements (extensive technical payroll expertise is not required)
  • Proficiency in both official languages (English and French)

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience implementing or administering compensation structures or job architectures and translating established frameworks into practical operating standards
  • Experience developing policy and governance frameworks and strengthening accountability across a complex organization
