Role Summary:
The Director/Senior Director, Capital Strategies will provide partnership to all lines of CPC’s business in identifying and structuring of capital to promote growth for CPC and impact on communities we serve. To work with the Head of Capital Strategies, Finance team and other leaders on executing CPC’s appropriate capitalization structure. Assist in delivering guidance and expertise to CPC executive management and its subsidiaries as well as the Capital Allocation Committee and the CPC Board of Directors as needed. Build and maintain relationships with market participants and raise CPC’s brand awareness.
What You’ll Do:
As a key member of the Capital Strategies team you will work in conjunction with CPC leadership to ensure low-cost, efficient, flexible capital that is aligned with our business goals.
Partner with the Finance team on ensuring balance sheet management, liquidity and capital are optimally aligned to ensure maintenance of strong credit ratings, optimal debt terms, compliance with financial covenants, and new capital is accretive to CPC’s overall corporate goals.
Help build capital channels, to include the capital markets executions around GSE loans, construction/permanent loans, project debt, corporate debt as well as future opportunities to recycle capital and hedge interest risk.
Gather and assess information from internal/external sources and incorporate into financial models so pricing and structuring of CPC products reflects continued market dynamics.
Lead the execution of capital markets transactions, bank facilities and programmatic partnerships.
Work with businesses on project-based work, including asset disposition as well as refinancings, while ensuring alignment with CPC’s corporate goals for capital allocation, revenue generation and business growth.
Work with CPC’s legal team, Chief Risk Officer, CFO/CIO and business leaders to structure and create market clearing products that comply with internal credit and investment policies, as well as documentation and legal standards.
Conduct thorough due diligence on prospective opportunities including qualitative and quantitative analysis of investment strategy, risk, process, organization, CPC balance sheet considerations, portfolio positions and performance.
Analyze and assess strategic alternatives to include acquisitions, partnership arrangements or potential investments as they arise.
Build and maintain a network of investors, bankers, lawyers, rating analysts and other market participants.
Assist with investor relations materials, activities and events.
Assist in overseeing the rates desk including interest rate reporting as well as rates guidance related to underwriting assumptions.
Support and help supervise the loan participations desk.
Help cultivate and mentor junior team members.
Skills and Experience:
BA/BS in Economics, Finance, Real Estate or related field required. Master’s/MBA, or CFA preferred but not required
10+ years of progressive experience in capital markets, commercial banking, structured finance, real estate finance, corporate finance, or related fields. Direct experience in the multifamily affordable housing sector strongly preferred
Deep understanding of corporate structures, debt and equity financing mechanisms and real estate strategy, preferably in the context of the multifamily affordable housing sector
Demonstrated experience in capital markets and/or commercial banking within the multifamily affordable housing sector
Advanced analytical skills with financial modeling experience
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects with varied workstreams
Strategic thinker and proficient in decision-making
Ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner
Strong leadership skills and ability to foster a team-oriented and collaborative environment

This is a hybrid role where you will work from the Manhattan office two - three days a week. The salary range is $175,000 - $230,000, dependent on experience.
