We are supporting a leading European energy organisation with a critical Cyber Disaster Recovery & Resilience programme and are looking for an experienced Disaster Recovery / Cyber Resilience Expert to join the initiative.
The objective is simple but business-critical:
If a major ransomware or destructive cyberattack compromises the technology estate, can the organisation recover critical operations quickly, safely and in the correct sequence?
This is not a traditional Business Continuity or documentation-focused role. You'll be responsible for helping design, validate and test real-world recovery capability across a complex hybrid Microsoft Azure and on-premise environment.
The Role
You'll be responsible for:
• Developing the Disaster Recovery & Resilience strategy across Azure and on-premise environments
• Defining minimum viable operations, recovery priorities and restoration sequencing
• Mapping critical application, infrastructure, identity and data dependencies
• Validating backup integrity, immutable backups and restore procedures
• Developing clean-room / isolated recovery approaches following cyber compromise
• Creating practical recovery SOPs and cyber recovery playbooks
• Running restore tests, simulations and scenario-based recovery exercises
• Assessing recovery capability against RTO, RPO, integrity and operational hand-back criteria
• Identifying residual risks and translating them into technical remediation plans
• Building the roadmap and technical backlog for the organisation's wider resilience programme
We're Looking For
• 8+ years' experience across Disaster Recovery, Cyber Recovery, IT Resilience or Infrastructure Recovery
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure + on-premise infrastructure
• Deep knowledge of backup & restore, immutable backups and recovery testing
• Experience designing recovery strategies for ransomware, destructive cyberattacks or major technology disruption
• Understanding of clean-room recovery and identity dependencies
• Strong knowledge of RTO / RPO and recovery sequencing
• Experience creating and validating practical DR playbooks rather than purely theoretical plans
• Ability to communicate technical recovery risks and decisions to senior stakeholders
Certifications such as CBCP, MBCI, CISSP, CISM, AZ-305, AZ-500 or ITIL would be beneficial.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a highly visible cyber resilience initiative where the focus isn't simply on writing recovery plans. It's about proving the organisation can actually recover when it matters.
