Job Title: Distribution Engineer Job Description As a Distribution Engineer, you will support various electrical distribution projects ranging from small, quick turnaround jobs to larger, more complex distribution lines. Your work will involve storm hardening, pole replacement, line resiliency/reliability, reconductoring, and more. The role is primarily focused on preparing engineering designs, with occasional field visits. Responsibilities Prepare engineering designs for electrical distribution projects. Conduct field visits to collect information from client stakeholders and end users. Use collected information to create preliminary design packages for QA approval. Upon approval, develop detailed design packages in adherence to standards and specifications. Collaborate with drafters, designers, and engineers across multiple projects. Essential Skills Experience in distribution design and asset suite. Familiarity with ComEd distribution projects. Ability to work independently on ComEd projects. Proficiency in Smallworld, Asset Suite 8 / AS8, AutoCad, Microstation, and GIS. Strong skills in electrical design, drafting, and engineering design. Experience in pole replacement, reliability engineering, and reconductoring. Additional Skills & Qualifications 2-4 years of experience for Engineer Level II, 4+ years for Engineer III. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software. EIT or PE not required. Work Environment The position involves working closely with KDM Engineering, who owns the space and is an EOC for ComEd electric distribution engineering work. Most of the work will be conducted in KDM's office with a flexible schedule: 1 day remote, 3 days in the office, and 1 day in the field. The schedule may vary based on project requirements. The office has 10 desks to fill, projecting until early 2027. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $40.86/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
