Job Title: Distribution Engineer (remote, must sit in Greater Seattle Area) Job Description This position is within the Distribution Department and involves designing and reviewing overhead and underground distribution lines ranging from 12.5 kV to 34.5 kV. The role requires the engineering and design of work packages for new customer construction projects, ensuring all designs meet quality and consistency standards. Responsibilities Design and review overhead and underground distribution lines from 12.5 kV to 34 kV. Develop overhead and underground cable/conduit work packages. Design complex distribution projects in urban and rural environments, ensuring compliance with engineering and construction specifications. Coordinate small design teams for budgeting, scoping documents, design criteria, and project deliverables. Provide engineering assistance during construction and attend meetings for coordination and community outreach. Identify and initiate corrective actions when project objectives are not met. Interpret codes and regulations to develop standards for construction projects. Promote engineering professionalism and standards. Develop and implement plans by establishing goals, objectives, and requirements, including scheduling and resources. Travel up to 30% of the time to client sites, with varying travel durations. Essential Skills Experience with electric utility distribution design projects. Experience in overhead, URD, re-conductoring, and asset replacement projects. Experience with complex distribution projects in urban and rural environments. Proficiency in AutoCAD drafting. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with utility distribution services or electrical engineering within commercial construction. Experience working within power distribution. Work Environment This position offers a remote work environment with 20 days of PTO. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Redmond, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $55.28/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
