Document & Configuration Control Engineer Apply Now ReOrbit is looking for a Document & Configuration Control Engineer to establish, maintain and improve the systems and processes that ensure our engineering and manufacturing documentation remains accurate, controlled and fully traceable throughout the product lifecycle. As our Document & Configuration Control Engineer, you will play a critical role at the interface between Engineering, Product Assurance and Manufacturing. You will manage the complete lifecycle of technical documentation and engineering changes, from initial draft and review through release and implementation on the shop floor. You will ensure that the right people are working with the right revision, that engineering changes are properly reviewed and approved, and that configuration data remains consistent across our document management, PLM and manufacturing systems. You will also be responsible for assembling the final End Item Data Packages required for customer and launch asset delivery. Responsibilities Prepare, process and manage engineering and technical documentation through the full document lifecycle, from draft and review to approval and release, using ECLIPSE and other internal document management systems. Prepare and maintain document templates and ensure documentation is processed according to established review, approval and release workflows. Conduct regular documentation compliance reviews with external component and subassembly suppliers. Assemble and maintain the final End Item Data Package (EIDP) required by customers and relevant space agencies prior to launch asset delivery. Maintain accurate part numbering, document identification and configuration records, including structural Bills of Materials (BOMs). Configure and maintain workflows for Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs). Manage and route change requests through the appropriate review and approval processes, ensuring required Product Assurance sign-off is completed before implementation. Build and maintain dashboards and reporting mechanisms to provide visibility into change status, bottlenecks and approval progress. Ensure approved engineering changes are accurately reflected in the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and prevent outdated work instructions or documentation from being used on the shop floor. Provide administrative and logistical support for configuration management and change control meetings throughout the project lifecycle. Work closely with Engineering, Product Assurance and Manufacturing teams to ensure configuration changes are implemented accurately without unnecessary disruption to production. Skills and Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Computer Science or another relevant technical field. 5+ years of direct experience in document control or configuration management within aerospace, defence or another high-reliability hardware manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, OneDrive, SharePoint and document management systems such as ECLIPSE. Familiarity with Jira, including creating and managing tickets and workflow statuses, and an understanding of how Manufacturing Execution Systems are used in production environments. Familiarity with quality and configuration management frameworks such as ISO 9001 and/or ECSS standards. Strong organisational and structural thinking skills, with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple controlled processes simultaneously. Eagerness to learn and work with complex aerospace standards, engineering documentation and configuration management processes. Proficiency in technical English, with the ability to read, write and review engineering documentation accurately. Ability to work effectively across Engineering, Product Assurance and Manufacturing teams while maintaining process discipline and traceability. Eligibility to comply with applicable local defence trade controls and national security clearance requirements. Nice to have Direct experience configuring advanced Jira workflows, automation rules or structured knowledge spaces in Confluence. Experience building real-time reporting on engineering changes, change velocity or bottlenecks using Power BI, Jira Dashboards or similar tools. Familiarity with reviewing 3D assemblies and engineering drawings using tools such as SolidWorks or similar CAD software. Basic proficiency in Python, SQL or JavaScript for building automation or integrations between engineering, change management and manufacturing systems. Experience facilitating change control or configuration management meetings. Confidence enforcing configuration and compliance requirements with senior technical stakeholders while balancing governance with production efficiency. What does ReOrbit do?
