Salary Range: $30.00 To $35.00 Hourly Structural Drafter, AutoCAD Drafter Location: Denver or Fort Collins, Hybrid/Remote Department: Structural Engineering Employment Type: Full-Time Temporary Duration: **This is a 60 day Contract Position** Pay: $30-35/hour Position Summary Knott Laboratory is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Structural Drafter to join our Structural Engineering team in a contract role. The Structural Drafter works closely with Structural Engineers, Architects, and Project Managers to develop construction documents, rehabilitation plans, repair details, and structural drawings for commercial, residential, industrial, and forensic engineering projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of complex and unique projects, including structural repairs, building rehabilitation, new design, restoration, and forensic investigations. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical drafting skills, proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, and a passion for producing accurate, high-quality deliverables. Essential Responsibilities Develop detailed structural drawings and construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit. Prepare plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules for structural engineering projects. Assist engineers with the development of repair, rehabilitation, restoration, and new construction drawings. Translate engineering calculations, sketches, field notes, and concepts into complete drafting packages. Create and maintain Building Information Models (BIM) for project coordination and documentation. Revise drawings based on engineer review, client feedback, and project requirements. Coordinate drawings with architectural, civil, and MEP disciplines. Ensure drawings comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, and company drafting standards. Organize and maintain project files and document control procedures. Support field investigations and site documentation when needed. Participate in internal quality control reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness. Required Qualifications Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Architectural Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. Minimum 2 years of structural, architectural, or engineering drafting experience. Proficiency with Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD. Experience reading and interpreting structural plans, specifications, and construction documents. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Qualifications Experience drafting structural steel, concrete, timber, and masonry systems. Familiarity with forensic engineering, restoration, rehabilitation, or building envelope projects. Experience utilizing laser scans, point clouds, or reality capture technologies. BIM coordination experience. Knowledge of International Building Code (IBC) and commonly referenced structural design standards. Experience working in consulting engineering or architectural environments.
