Drayage Logistics Coordinator
Location: Colombia
Position Type: Full-Time, Fully Remote
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Drayage Logistics Coordinator with a deep, hands-on operational background to manage our port and rail container movements. In this role, you will serve as the engine of our drayage operations: navigating complex port dynamics, managing carrier relationships, and ensuring seamless container flow while strictly controlling per diem and demurrage costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end drayage operations, including dispatching, container tracking, and terminal appointments across major ocean ports and rail ramps.
- Proactively monitor container statuses to minimize and mitigate demurrage, storage, and per diem detention fees.
- Build and maintain strong operational relationships with drayage carriers, steamship lines, terminal operators, and rail providers.
- Resolve real-time operational bottlenecks, including port congestion, driver delays, equipment shortages, and customs holds.
- Audit and approve carrier rate quotes, accessorial charges, and drayage invoices for accuracy.
- Maintain complete visibility and accurate milestone tracking within the Transportation Management System (TMS).
Qualifications & Requirements
- 3+ years of direct operational experience specifically in drayage logistics (port and/or rail container transportation).
- Deep technical understanding of port terminal operations, rail ramp procedures, steamship line processes, and accessorial fee structures.
- Proven track record of successfully managing container dwell times and controlling accessorial costs.
- Proficiency with modern Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and ocean/rail tracking tools.
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and high-volume multi-tasking abilities under tight deadlines.
