Show job description

If you have been a driver recruiter for a US trucking company or carrier, bringing on CDL-A drivers or owner-operators, keep reading.

Venture49 is hiring on behalf of a growing US trucking company (Illinois-based, 20 trucks, long-haul general and refrigerated freight) that wants to expand its fleet by bringing on owner-operators through a lease-on program. You will own the full recruiting process and pitch a partnership to independent drivers who own their own trucks. This is remote, full-time, on US Central Time.

One thing to know going in: owner-operators are business owners. You are not offering them a job, you are selling them a partnership. This is a sales-style recruiting role.

What you will do

You will find owner-operators across the US through CDL job boards, Indeed, Facebook trucking groups, forums, LinkedIn and referrals. You will run high-volume calls, texts and emails, explain the lease-on offer clearly (pay split, fuel discounts, deductions, routes, home time, dispatch support), pre-screen candidates against the company’s requirements, collect the documents onboarding needs, schedule interviews with management, and follow up until the lease is signed and the truck is rolling. You keep every lead current in the CRM and send a weekly report.

Must have, non-negotiable

Recruiting experience in the US trucking industry. You have recruited drivers, CDL-A drivers and owner-operators, for US trucking companies or carriers, and you know the language: CDL-A, owner-operator, lease-on, MC and DOT numbers, reefer, dry van, OTR, MVR, the Clearinghouse, and ELDs.

Advanced or fluent English, C1 or higher, and confident on the phone with US drivers.

Comfortable making 60 to 100 or more calls and texts a day and handling objections.

Available on US Central Time, including early mornings or late afternoons when drivers are easiest to reach.

Reliable internet, a quiet workspace, and your own computer.

A plus for the client

Experience with CDLjobs, Indeed, or Facebook trucking groups, and with a CRM or applicant tracking software.

Spanish, to reach Spanish-speaking owner-operators across the US.

What success looks like

Qualified owner-operators submitted every week, a strong interview to signed lease-on rate, fast response to inbound leads, and drivers still running with the company at 60 to 90 days.

Compensation (negotiable based on experience)

Base range of 700-900 USD per month, plus USD $500 for every owner-operator you recruit who signs on and stays active past the one-month mark.
