ROLE OVERVIEW

We want an ownership-driven E-commerce Account Manager who runs a brand's marketplace business end to end: listings, inventory, pricing, ads, and the weekly numbers.

You will own Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, Zepto and Swiggy Instamart for a set of brands, and Amazon US and Walmart where a brand sells there. You will grow sales, protect margin, and keep every account healthy. You will use AI tools every day to do the work of a three-person team.

Core Capabilities (Mandatory)

1. Marketplace operations: Amazon and Flipkart
  • 5+ years running Seller Central and Flipkart Seller Hub for live brands, with sales numbers you can show.
  • Listing creation and optimisation: titles, bullets, A+ content, brand stores, backend keywords, images and video.
  • Catalogue health: suppressed listings, variation fixes, category and attribute errors, brand registry, counterfeit and hijacker cases.
  • Account health: order defect rate, late shipment, returns, A-to-Z claims, policy warnings and appeals.
  • Pricing and promotions: deals, coupons, Lightning Deals, Big Billion Days and Prime Day plans, buy box tracking.
  • FBA, Easy Ship, Flipkart Smart and seller-fulfilled models; FBA fee, storage and removal maths.

2. Quick commerce: Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart
  • 2+ years on at least two quick-commerce seller portals.
  • Purchase order planning and fill rates, dark-store level stock, city-wise availability, expiry and returns.
  • Listing and catalogue setup, category placement, product page content built for a 10-second decision.
  • Quick-commerce ads: sponsored listings, banners, search ads, and the trade-margin negotiation that comes with them.
  • Weekly review of sell-through, availability, and ad spend by city and SKU.

3. Inventory and supply planning
  • Demand forecasting by SKU and channel, reorder points, safety stock and 30/60/90-day planning.
  • Stock sync across marketplaces, quick commerce, D2C site and warehouse; zero overselling.
  • Working knowledge of inventory tools (Unicommerce, Vinculum, EasyEcom, Zoho Inventory or similar) and warehouse and 3PL coordination.
  • Reconciliation: marketplace payouts, fee and commission checks, claims for lost and damaged stock, GST invoice and credit-note flow.

4. Marketplace advertising (critical)
  • Hands-on with Amazon Ads (Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display, DSP basics), Flipkart Ads (PLA, PCA, brand ads), and quick-commerce ad consoles.
  • Campaign structure, keyword harvesting, negative keywords, bid rules, dayparting and budget pacing.
  • ACOS, TACOS, ROAS, organic rank lift and contribution margin after ads; you set spend from margin first and ROAS second.
  • Weekly ad reports a founder can read in 2 minutes, built from bulk sheets or an ads tool (Helium 10, Jungle Scout, Sellerboard, Adbrew or similar).

5. Data and reporting
  • Daily sales, stock, ads and health dashboard per brand (Google Sheets, Looker Studio or Excel), with the week's three actions on top.
  • SKU-level P&L: price, marketplace fees, ad cost, returns, shipping and net margin.
  • Comfortable with Business Reports, Brand Analytics, search query reports and Flipkart insights.

6. AI tools (mandatory)
  • Daily use of Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini for listing copy, keyword clustering, review mining, report writing and PO planning.
  • Can build a repeatable prompt or a small automation (Sheets formulas, Apps Script, Zapier, Make or n8n) to remove a manual task.
  • Shows in the interview how AI cut a task from hours to minutes.
General requirements
  • 5+ years in marketplace management with at least 2 years on marketplace ads; D2C brand or growth-company background preferred.
  • Has run at least Rs 50 lakh a month in marketplace sales, or Rs 10 lakh a month in marketplace ad spend, across brands.
  • Extremely fluent English; you present numbers to US and Indian founders on weekly calls.
  • Overlap with US Eastern hours for at least 4 hours a day.
  • Owns outcomes: sales, margin and account health are your numbers.
  • Process-driven: SOPs, checklists and a clean weekly rhythm for every brand.
  • A case study is part of the hiring process (see below).
