E-commerce Product Designer Intern (Volunteer)

Role Description The E-commerce Product Designer Intern (Volunteer) will support the design and improvement of DOJU HEALTH’s online platform and product experience in a remote capacity. Day-to-day tasks include creating and refining user interfaces, contributing to product flows and interactions, and helping translate business requirements into intuitive, user-centered designs. The intern will collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to conduct user research, synthesize findings, and propose design solutions that improve usability and conversion. Responsibilities also include preparing design assets, supporting prototype development, and participating in design reviews and feedback sessions. This is a volunteer role, suitable for individuals looking to build practical experience in product design while contributing to a social impact initiative in African healthcare.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Product Design and Design Thinking skills to create user-centered e-commerce experiences.
• Candidates should possess Visual Design skills to craft clear, engaging, and consistent interfaces and layouts.
• Candidates should possess User Research and UX Research skills to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points.
• Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD and the ability to create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, and collaborate across diverse, distributed teams.
• Strong communication skills, openness to feedback, and a learning-oriented mindset.
• Interest in e-commerce, healthcare access, or social impact initiatives in Africa; prior experience in these areas is beneficial but not required.
• Current student or recent graduate in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
