EAP/SECS-GEM Developer (Junior/Senior)

We are seeking an experienced (Junior or Senior-level) EAP/SECS-GEM Developer to design, develop, and maintain equipment automation and process control solutions for semiconductor fabs. The employee will develop and integrate SECS/GEM-compliant drivers, configure MueTec equipment interfaces, and troubleshoot complex fab automation systems. This role requires deep expertise in semiconductor standards, real-time communication protocols, and fab equipment integration to ensure seamless operation of fab automation systems.

Working Arrangement, Days & Hours

• Independent Contractor, Remote (WFH), 5-day work week, 40 hours per week
• Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 6 PM (SGT, GMT+8) / 8 AM – 5 PM (WIB, GMT+7)

Compensation Package

• Salary (IDR 6,000,000 - 9,000,000 per month, negotiable)
• Medical Leave & Monthly Day-Off

Salary Structure

The position includes an initial three (3) months of review period, during which the starting salary will be paid at 80%. This initial review period aims to thoroughly determine the suitability of remote talent in order to assess long-term employability or identify suitable replacements. Upon successful completion of the probation period, the salary will be increased to 100% of the agreed amount.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and maintain equipment drivers compliant with SEMI E4 (SECS-I), SEMI E5 (SECS-II), and SEMI E30 (GEM) standards. Implement SEMI E37 (HSMS) for TCP/IP-based communication and other relevant standards (E39, E40, E90, E94, E116) based on equipment type.
2. Configure and integrate MueTec equipment with AIS Automation Host Interface (FabLink-based). Configure Tool Conn., Host Conn., GEM300, and EDA modules. Maintain and troubleshoot FabLink .ini configuration files including HostConnection.ini, GEM300.ini, MachineInterface.ini, and PPM.ini.
3. Design and implement Equipment States Model, Event/Alarm/Report definitions, and Data Variables (SVID/ECID/CEID). Ensure GEM300 compliance with 300mm fab equipment.
4. Develop production-grade code in C#, C++, Java, or Python. Implement socket programming and TCP/IP communication protocols. Design multithreading and real-time systems. Integrate SECS/GEM driver libraries and toolkits (Cimetrix, PEER Group, secs4net, or in-house SDKs).
5. Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and validation of SECS/GEM drivers and fab automation systems. Troubleshoot communication issues and system failures in production environments.
6. Create technical documentation, design specifications, and troubleshooting guides. Provide technical support to fab operators and engineering teams.
7. Identify and implement enhancements to automation systems. Stay updated with latest SEMI standards and fab automation best practices.

Requirements (Must-Have)

• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
• 2–5 years of experience in semiconductor fab automation, equipment integration, or SECS/GEM driver development
• Solid understanding of SEMI E4 (SECS-I), SEMI E5 (SECS-II), SEMI E30 (GEM), and SEMI E37 (HSMS) standards
• Proven experience with MueTec equipment and FabLink-based automation interfaces
• Strong proficiency in at least one programming language: C#, C++, Java, or Python
• Understanding of Equipment States Model, Event/Alarm/Report definitions, and Data Variables (SVID/ECID/CEID)
• Experience with socket programming and TCP/IP communication protocols
• Demonstrated experience in multithreading and real-time system design
• Familiarity with SECS/GEM driver libraries or toolkits (e.g., Cimetrix, PEER Group, secs4net)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex automation systems
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a technical environment
• Reliable internet connection and professional workspace

Requirements (Nice-to-Have)

• Experience with GEM300 compliance for 300mm fab equipment
• Experience with in-house SECS/GEM SDKs and custom driver development
• Familiarity with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) integration
• Familiarity with additional SEMI standards (E39, E40, E90, E94, E116)
• Working knowledge of FabLink .ini configuration and troubleshooting
