Job Description

About the Role

Do you enjoy solving engineering challenges before detailed design begins? Are you motivated by influencing major engineering decisions at the earliest stages of complex projects? As an Early Engagement Engineer within our End Fitting Supply team, you will play a key role in shaping the technical direction of tomorrow’s subsea energy projects. Working closely with customers, Sales, and multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will evaluate technical feasibility, develop engineering concepts, support and provide input to define project case. Your work will help ensure that every proposed solution is technically robust, commercially viable, and positioned for successful project execution.

Objectives

In This Role, You Will

  • Take ownership of feasibility evaluations, engineering recommendations and technical decision-making within the EFS scope of supply.
  • Develop technically feasible and commercially competitive engineering concepts during early project development.
  • Review customer scope of work and technical specification, identify technical opportunities, constraints, and risks before detailed engineering begins.
  • Support customers and Sales by providing sound engineering recommendations throughout FEED and tendering.
  • Contribute to accurate project scope, cost, time, and resource (CTR) estimates.
  • Ensure effective transfer of engineering knowledge to project execution teams.
  • Build trusted relationships with customers and internal stakeholders through technical expertise and collaboration.

About The Team

You will join our End Fitting Supply team, responsible for developing the critical connectors that interface flexible pipes with subsea production systems.

Working alongside experienced engineers, project teams, manufacturing specialists, and commercial colleagues, you’ll help deliver innovative and reliable subsea solutions for customers worldwide. Collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous learning are central to how we work.

About NOV

NOV Subsea Production Systems develops technology that improves the safety, efficiency, and reliability of the global energy industry.

Our solutions support offshore oil and gas production while also enabling the energy transition through applications such as carbon storage, offshore wind, ammonia infrastructure, and water treatment.

Joining NOV means becoming part of an international engineering organisation where innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement drive everything we do.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering feasibility assessments during early customer engagements.
  • Review customer specifications and identify technical opportunities and project risks.
  • Develop engineering concepts using existing NOV technologies and engineering best practices.
  • Recommend technically sound solutions balancing safety, performance, quality, and commercial objectives.
  • Support project scope definition, including engineering effort, cost, schedule, and resource estimates.
  • Collaborate with Sales, customers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout FEED and tendering activities.
  • Support commercial teams with technical input for competitive project proposals.
  • Transfer engineering knowledge to project execution teams to enable successful project delivery.
  • Provide technical support during selected customer meetings and after-sales activities.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Structural, Civil, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Approximately 1–3 years of experience in a project-based engineering environment.
  • Good understanding of engineering principles, materials, and engineering safety.
  • Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Professional proficiency in English and Danish.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with one or more of the following is considered an advantage:

  • Front-End Engineering Design (FEED)
  • Tendering or proposal engineering
  • Concept engineering
  • Technical feasibility studies
  • Engineering risk assessments
  • Offshore, subsea, or wider energy industry projects

What We Offer

At NOV, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your technical expertise while contributing to projects that have a global impact.

We Offer

  • Challenging engineering projects within an international environment.
  • Opportunities to broaden both technical and commercial competencies.
  • Collaboration with experienced multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Flexible hybrid working and a 37-hour working week.
  • Continuous learning and professional development opportunities.
  • Long-term career opportunities across engineering, technology, and project functions.
  • An inclusive culture where collaboration, innovation, and diverse perspectives are valued.

Why Join NOV?

At NOV, we don’t just solve today’s engineering challenges—we help shape the future of energy.

As part of our Subsea Production Systems business, you’ll contribute to technologies supporting both conventional offshore production and emerging energy solutions. You’ll work with talented colleagues around the world, develop your expertise on technically challenging projects, and build a rewarding career in an organisation committed to innovation, safety, and continuous improvement.

Diversity & Inclusion

At NOV, we are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. We value diversity in all its forms and believe that different perspectives drive innovation and better decision-making. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
