Role Description: The Editor / Research Operations analyst will focus on a combination of responsibilities within Nomura’s Global Research function including editorial, risk management, and operational processes to support a global team with Asia focus, while based in the Americas. This role will include reviewing written reports as well as audio/video products produced by the Global Research team. Tasks include: Act as a project manager for the Research product Gain deep familiarity with our Research systems and liaise with various stakeholders throughout the review and approval process Provide editorial review of the Research product, including from non-native speakers, to ensure correct grammar, spelling, and language Ensure views are communicated clearly and reports are logically consistent Mitigate reputational risk / limit franchise exposure by editing for tone and language on politically sensitive topics Work with Compliance as needed Consistently apply corporate branding and style guidelines Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required: Native English speaker; Japanese reading and writing skills preferred, but not required Undergraduate degree with strong GPA Superior English grammar skills and attention to detail; commercial mindset Sound judgment/ability to spot reputational risk issues Excellent interpersonal skills and maturity to manage analyst expectations Basic understanding of balance sheet and financial analysis Strong proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint Willingness to take FINRA Series 16 examination Ability to work daytime US hours (~8am – 6pm) with flexibility to work outside of these hours as necessary. Primarily office-based in NYC with some remote flexibility.
