About the Team

The Education Solutions Team is a newly established function within the Education Directorate, bringing together data, systems and service improvement to support the future of education quality assurance across the UK.

We're building a more connected, insight-driven approach to education regulation, ensuring that decisions are informed by high-quality data and meaningful intelligence. Working closely with colleagues across Education, Technology and Regulatory teams, we help transform information into knowledge, enabling better decisions, improved services and stronger outcomes for students, providers and the wider public.

This is an exciting time to join the team. As the function continues to grow, you'll have the opportunity to help shape new ways of working, influence how data is used across the organisation and play a key role in building a culture where evidence and insight sit at the heart of decision-making

Your Role and Impact

As an Education Data Analyst, you'll help turn data into meaningful insight that supports the quality of nursing, midwifery and nursing associate education across the UK.

This isn't just about producing reports. It's about helping colleagues understand what the data is telling us, identifying emerging risks and opportunities, and providing the evidence needed to make informed decisions that have a real impact on education quality and public protection.

You'll work with a variety of datasets, systems and stakeholders, bringing together information from multiple sources to identify trends, create compelling visualisations and generate actionable insights. Whether you're developing dashboards, exploring new data sources or presenting findings to colleagues, your work will help shape strategic priorities and support continuous improvement across the Education Directorate.

In this role you will:
  • Analyse and interpret complex data to identify trends, patterns, opportunities and emerging risks.
  • Develop dashboards, reports and visualisations that support both operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Work with data from a range of internal and external sources to create meaningful insight and intelligence.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear and engaging recommendations for diverse audiences.
  • Support the development of management information and performance reporting frameworks.
  • Analyse information held within Microsoft Dynamics 365 and other organisational systems.
  • Provide insight that informs education quality assurance, monitoring and regulatory activities.
  • Support data quality, validation and governance processes to ensure confidence in reporting and analysis.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data collection, reporting methodologies and analytical approaches.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Education, Technology and wider organisational teams to solve problems and improve services.
  • Contribute to projects that enhance the use, accessibility and value of education-related data.
  • Help promote a culture of evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement.
This is a role where your analysis will directly influence how the organisation understands risk, measures performance and supports high-quality education across the UK.

What You Will Bring

We're looking for someone who is naturally curious, enjoys solving problems and gets excited by the challenge of uncovering insights that can make a real difference.

You don't need to come from an education background. What matters most is your ability to interpret data, ask the right questions and communicate your findings in a way that helps others make better decisions.

You will bring:
  • Experience analysing and interpreting data within a complex organisational environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify trends, risks, patterns and opportunities from large or complex datasets.
  • Experience bringing together information from multiple sources to produce meaningful insight and recommendations.
  • Experience developing reports, dashboards and visualisations using tools such as Power BI.
  • Experience working with databases, business systems or platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Strong data management skills, including data validation, quality assurance and governance practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Experience supporting decision-making through reporting, analysis and evidence-based recommendations.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build positive working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive mindset with a willingness to challenge existing approaches and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • A genuine passion for using data and insight to improve services, outcomes and decision-making.
Experience within higher education, healthcare, regulation, business intelligence, performance analysis or quality assurance would be beneficial. However, we're equally interested in candidates with strong analytical experience from other sectors who can bring fresh perspectives and transferable skills.
