Show job description

The Villars Institute is a nonprofit foundation dedicated to accelerating the transition to a net zero and nature-positive future by providing leaders of all ages with the knowledge, skills, and networks needed for systems change. We collaborate with educators, executives, scientists, entrepreneurs, artists, and youth from around the world to drive meaningful action. Our office is in the IUCN Conservation Centre in Gland, Switzerland.

Join Our Team

We are a dynamic team that is entrepreneurial, agile and resilient. We are looking for team members who want to learn new things by working with different stakeholders on a wide range of projects, activities and events. We believe that curiosity, collaboration, and commitment are what make an exceptional work culture and lead to meaningful professional development.

The Role

At the Villars Institute, we believe education has an important role to play in shaping a better future for people and planet. We are looking for a curious, motivated and thoughtful individual who shares this belief and would like to contribute to bringing our educational initiatives to life.

As our Education & Learning Intern, you will work closely with a small, international team to support the coordination, delivery and growth of our learning programs. Your work will span three key areas: program administration and coordination, data management and analysis, and marketing and business development support.

This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience, take ownership of meaningful work and contribute your ideas and skills to an organisation working at the intersection of education, sustainability and systems change.

Your Roles and Responsibilities

1. Programme Administration & Coordination

  • Coordinate the administrative lifecycle of learning cohorts, from participant registration and onboarding through programme delivery, evaluation and certification.
  • Maintain oversight of programme calendars, schedules and agendas, coordinating with facilitators, participants and partners to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Support the administration of the Institute's digital learning platforms, ensuring that participants have access to relevant learning materials and resources.
  • Manage participant communications, registrations, attendance records and certification processes.
  • Support the planning and delivery of key educational initiatives and events, including the Global Learning Conference.

2. Data Management & Analysis

  • Support the development and improvement of internal processes and systems to organise and manage Education & Learning programme data.
  • Collect, structure and maintain accurate records of participants, cohorts, partners and programme outcomes.
  • Consolidate and analyse quantitative and qualitative data, including participant feedback and pre- and post-programme assessments.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards and statistical summaries to track programme performance, learner engagement and impact.
  • Identify trends and insights that can inform programme improvements, strategic decisions and external communications.

3. Marketing & Sales Support

  • Support the development and maintenance of relationships with existing and prospective clients, learning partners and institutional stakeholders.
  • Contribute to building and maintaining the Education & Learning sales pipeline, including prospect research, outreach coordination and follow-up activities.
  • Work closely with the Communications team to develop, update and maintain compelling marketing and promotional materials for the Institute's educational programmes.
  • Support the preparation of programme presentations, proposals and other business development materials.
  • Help identify opportunities to expand the reach and adoption of the Institute's educational programmes.

The Profile

You believe in our mission and are motivated to translate ambitious ideas into practical results. You enjoy working in a dynamic, international environment and are comfortable balancing different priorities and interacting with people from diverse cultures and professional backgrounds.

We are particularly looking for someone who is:

  • Organised and detail-oriented, with strong coordination and time-management skills.
  • Analytical and data-driven, comfortable working with spreadsheets, organising information and drawing meaningful insights from data.
  • Proactive and entrepreneurial, with the initiative to identify opportunities, solve problems and improve processes.
  • A clear and thoughtful communicator, comfortable engaging with learners, colleagues, clients and external partners.
  • Digitally confident, with an interest in learning and using digital platforms, CRM systems and productivity tools.
  • Curious and adaptable, eager to develop new skills and contribute across different areas of a growing organisation.
  • Passionate about education, sustainability and systems change.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Experience with data analysis, CRM systems, digital learning platforms or marketing and sales activities would be an advantage.
