Job Summary
An Electroneurodiagnostic (EEG) Technician or Neurophysiology Technician uses specialized equipment to record and study a patient's brain waves and other electrical impulses of the nervous system.Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
-Performs Electroencephalogram (EEG) Long Term set ups
-Performs EEG to evaluate cerebral death.
-Performs routine EEG's, Ambulatory EEG's (24/48/72), and data review of studies including annotating.
-Prepares patient and monitors for localized cerebral seizure focus, with video recording; performs preliminary preparation of studies for interpretation by neurologists.
-Prepares patients and monitors for ambulatory studies.
-Enters test result data into Epic reporting system and well as managing the EEG system and other software/hardware necessary for the completion of the study acquisition.
-Adapts to workflow changes and plans as outlined by Clinical Lead EEG Tech & /or Management
-Performs other duties as assigned by the director of the department.

Qualifications
Per Diem - 1-2 shifts per month, weekday and weekend availability
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree Neuroscience preferred

Licenses and Credentials
Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist [R. EEG T.] - ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing & Accreditation preferred
Experience
Experience as a neurodiagnostic technologist in independent monitoring of continuous EEG 1-2 years required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to be a Natus super user- including mastery of transitioning and using TREX, Brainmonitor and Quantum systems.
- Ability to be an Epic super user- including competency in Worklist, snapboard, reading worklist optimization, special order entry, billing reconciliation, research billing, and outside hospital billing and reporting.
- Ability to apply collodion, Cover-Roll, dMIR, REG and other modalities as needed.
- Competent and comfortable in applying electrodes to special patient populations such as pediatric and adult autism spectrum, Angelman’s, ECMO, Neurosurgery and other complex patient populations.
- Ability to perform ACYSTE, SAH, TBI, Skin Integrity and Electrocerebral Silence protocols.
