Job Title: EHS&S Translation CoordinatorJob Description

The EHS&S Translation Coordinator supports the global Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHSS) team by coordinating the translation and localization of standards, documents, learning content, and reference materials for a worldwide workforce. The role focuses on managing translation workflows in a Translation Management System, coordinating translation validation, preparing localized learning and communication materials, and publishing final approved content to quality, content, and learning platforms such as ETQ Reliance, SharePoint, and a Learning Management System (LMS). This position suits a highly organized, detail-oriented, and technology-savvy professional who enjoys working with multilingual content and collaborating across cultures and functions in a fast-paced global environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage EHSS translation projects using a Translation Management System (TMS), including initiating projects, monitoring progress, coordinating reviews, and completing workflows.
  • Prepare source content and supporting materials for translation, ensuring clarity, completeness, and readiness for localization.
  • Coordinate with translation validators to ensure translated content accurately reflects the intent, terminology, and requirements of the source content.
  • Incorporate validator feedback, coordinate revisions, and drive translated materials through to final approval.
  • Monitor project timelines and communicate status, risks, and potential delays to stakeholders in a timely and transparent manner.
  • Maintain translation terminology, translation memories, project instructions, and other reference resources to support consistent, high-quality translations.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure translated content is complete, accurate, and consistent with established standards and style.
  • Format and prepare translated documents, presentations, e-learning courses, videos, and other EHSS materials for final use.
  • Apply approved translations while maintaining the original contents formatting, functionality, structure, and visual integrity.
  • Support localization of e-learning and video content, including translated captions, subtitles, graphics, and on-screen text.
  • Identify and resolve formatting or technical issues resulting from translation or language changes, performing final quality checks prior to publication.
  • Publish finalized and approved translated content to SharePoint, the LMS, and other designated platforms.
  • Ensure the correct language version is associated with the appropriate content, audience, and platform.
  • Maintain accurate file naming, version control, metadata, and content organization for all translated materials.
  • Replace or archive outdated translated materials in accordance with established processes and governance requirements.
  • Maintain and follow EHSS translation and localization procedures, standards, and work instructions.
  • Track translation projects, timelines, workload, and other relevant metrics to support planning and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve translation quality, efficiency, and workflow processes, and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain documentation and job aids that support translation and localization activities.
  • Support special projects and other global EHSS priorities as needed, providing translation and localization expertise.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelors degree in communications, education, instructional design, translation, language studies, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Translation, localization, or related professional certification is a plus.
  • Experience with a Translation Management System (TMS), preferably Phrase.
  • Experience coordinating translation or localization projects.
  • Experience working with multilingual content and global audiences.
  • Experience with e-learning authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate, Lectora, or similar applications.
  • Experience formatting documents, presentations, e-learning, or video content for multiple languages.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Familiarity with translation tools such as DeepL, Trados, or other computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and technology-oriented working style.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced global environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across cultures and functions and to identify opportunities to improve translation and localization processes.
Work Environment

The EHS&S Translation Coordinator works in a professional, technology-driven environment that supports collaboration with global teams and stakeholders. The role relies heavily on digital tools, including a Translation Management System (such as Phrase), Learning Management Systems, ETQ Reliance, SharePoint, e-learning authoring tools, and standard office applications like Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Work is primarily computer-based, involving document preparation, content formatting, quality checks, and publishing activities. The position operates in a fast-paced setting with shifting priorities and multiple concurrent projects, requiring strong time management and responsiveness. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
