What You'll Be Doing

As an Electrical Project Engineer, you'll play a critical role in designing innovative, efficient, and reliable building systems.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, lighting controls, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
• Develop detailed construction documents and engineering drawings using Revit and AutoCAD
• Perform electrical load calculations, lighting studies, and power system analyses
• Coordinate designs with architects, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, and project managers
• Apply NEC requirements, engineering standards, and building codes to ensure safe, compliant designs
• Participate in project meetings and multidisciplinary design coordination efforts
• Support construction administration and assist in resolving field-related design challenges
• Prepare technical documentation, specifications, and engineering reports
• Contribute innovative ideas that improve project quality, efficiency, and performance

What We're Looking For

Required

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
• 1+ years of experience in electrical building systems design, MEP consulting, or related engineering experience
• Recent graduates with relevant co-op or internship experience encouraged to apply
• Experience with Revit and AutoCAD
• Understanding of electrical distribution, lighting, and building systems design
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
• Passion for learning and professional growth

Preferred

• EIT Certification or actively pursuing PE licensure
• Experience with AGi32 lighting calculations
• Experience with SKM power system analysis
• Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu
• LEED AP, WELL AP, RCDD, or other industry credentials
• Experience working on healthcare, education, commercial, or institutional projects

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $58.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
