Role Description
This is a remote contract position for an Electrical Design Engineer (MEP Building Design Focus) supporting residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects for global clients across North America, Europe, and West Africa.
The role focuses on the design and documentation of electrical building services, including power distribution, lighting systems, grounding and bonding, and low-voltage systems within coordinated MEP designs.
The Electrical Design Engineer will develop accurate, code-compliant electrical schematics and layouts using CAD software for new construction, renovation, and remodeling projects. Responsibilities also include performing electrical load calculations, preparing technical drawings and reports, coordinating with mechanical and plumbing disciplines, and contributing to the continuous improvement of internal electrical design standards and workflows.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop electrical designs and construction documents for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
- Prepare electrical layouts, schematics, and details using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Perform electrical load calculations and system sizing.
- Design lighting, power distribution, grounding, bonding, and low-voltage systems.
- Interpret and apply applicable electrical codes and standards.
- Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and structural disciplines.
- Review drawings for accuracy, errors, omissions, and coordination conflicts before submission.
- Conduct technical research when project requirements or code interpretations require clarification.
- Participate in design reviews and implement feedback and corrections.
- Follow Evervast's internal SOPs, design standards, and quality-control processes.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, clients, and other team members.
- Continuously develop technical skills and contribute to improving internal design workflows.
Qualifications
- Availability for 30–40 hours per week, with flexibility for candidates interested in transitioning into a full-time workload.
- Strong foundation in electrical engineering principles and MEP building services design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Experience or working knowledge of electrical load calculations, lighting layouts, and system sizing.
- Ability to interpret and apply electrical codes and standards.
- Excellent research, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Salary and Benefits
- Monthly Salary: ₦135,000–₦169,000, depending on experience, technical capability, availability, and level of responsibility.
- Expected Workload: 30–40 hours per week.
- The position is structured to accommodate candidates seeking a strong part-time commitment, while also providing an opportunity for candidates interested in full-time employment and increased hours.
- Performance Bonus: Up to 12.5% of monthly pay during the first 6 months, based on performance and completed client projects. Following the initial 6-month period, eligible employees may qualify for performance bonuses above 12.5%, based on demonstrated performance, contribution, and company/project outcomes.
