Electrical Designer (Mission Critical Substations_ Remote or Lakewood CO - Lakewood, CO 80215 Apply Overview Salary Range $32.00 - $47.00 Hourly Level Experienced Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day Education Level Not Specified Travel Percentage Typical: 5 - 15% Category Drafting & Design Apply Description About the Position As a mid-level Electrical Designer in the Mission Critical Substations group, you will be responsible for performing engineering design under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer. You will be responsible for supporting client projects and providing a quality deliverable that is on time and within the defined budget. Hourly Rate: $32.00 - $47.00 / hour The salary range above is based upon the Denver, Colorado labor market. Essential Responsibilities Primarily performs detailed Protection & Control design to prepare one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, relay panel BOM development, and cable/conduit drawings for all aspects of electrical power systems. Additional growth opportunities for Physical Electrical design such as grounding design, general arrangement, illumination, lightning protection, and conduit plan development is possible but not expected at hire date. Provides conceptual and high-level designs during bidding stage of projects with limited information or direction Checks the work of designers, drafters, and field service personnel for general quality and accuracy as required Contributes to CAD standard development in a manner that is cognizant of both engineering and design departments Reduces complexity of projects/tasks within their discipline to get more done with less work Provides a major role in the QA/QC process and takes initiative and ownership on all project and task quality Assists with client contacts and communication pertaining to specific assignments and meetings Maintains outstanding company-client relationships Other responsibilities as assigned Must Have Education: Associates degree in Drafting, Design, or related field is preferred Experience: 1 – 4 years of relevant engineering design, or other relevant experience Proficiency with AutoCAD is required Substation design experience is a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and additional computer software Maintain high ethical and professional standards within the overall organization Engaged in lifelong learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues Attend conferences, training workshops, seminars, regular undergraduate, and graduate classes as appropriate for advancement and as required to maintain quality of work Attend safety training and follow safety rules and guidelines Provide technical assistance and training for junior engineers A strong written and verbal command of the English language Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis Working Conditions Work Environment: Work is performed in an office setting and some field work may be required Travel: Typical: 5 – 10% Physical Activities: Must be able to lift 25lbs.
