Electrical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Project Manager to support a major utility client's generation modernization initiative. This exciting role involves overseeing the conversion of an existing coal-fired power plant to natural gas generation. The Project Manager will lead the planning and execution of electrical infrastructure projects necessary for the facility conversion, including new substations, substation expansions, transmission interconnections, distribution system upgrades, and related utility infrastructure improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of electrical infrastructure projects for facility conversion.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, operations, environmental, regulatory, and contractor stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Function as an extension of the utility owner's team to ensure seamless project integration.
• Manage complex infrastructure projects in an active utility environment.
• Oversee utility capital project initiatives and ensure successful project delivery.

Essential Skills

• Project management experience with a focus on utility capital projects.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage complex infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in electrical engineering and understanding of utility project lifecycles from engineering through commissioning.
• Experience managing engineering consultants, contractors, and utility stakeholders.
• Familiarity with project controls, scheduling, and financial reporting tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Management, or related discipline.
• 3+ years of project management experience in electric utility, generation, substation, transmission, or distribution projects.
• Proven track record of managing projects exceeding $10M in total installed cost.

Work Environment

The position requires onsite presence at the client's location for 2 days per week, with the flexibility to work from home for the remaining 3 days. The role will involve working in a dynamic environment with cutting-edge technologies and opportunities for professional growth.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $70.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
