Elsevier Netherlands Graduate Program 2027
Are you excited to accelerate your career through hands-on experience across publishing, technology, and commercial functions while helping advance science and health?
Do you thrive in fast-paced, cross-functional environments where curiosity, analytical thinking, and leadership potential are valued?
About the Team
Elsevier is launching a 24-month Graduate Program, offering five high-potential graduates a unique opportunity to gain broad business exposure and build a foundation for future leadership. You will complete three eight-month rotations across the business, contributing to meaningful projects that support operational excellence, digital innovation, and business growth. We work in a global and hybrid working environment. To optimize your learning and onboarding, we would expect you to be in our Amsterdam office around twice a week; depending the project you are working on, this could increase or decrease.
About the Role
This program is designed for early-career professionals who are motivated to develop cross-functional expertise, work with diverse teams, and create impact across the organization. Successful participants will be considered for permanent opportunities on completion of the program. You will be expected to work in our Amsterdam offices at least two days per week.
Responsibilities
You will complete three eight-month rotational assignments across the following business areas:
- Publishing & Operations
- Lead process simplification projects
- Support operational change across teams
- Improve governance & service delivery
- Product, Data & Digital Innovation
- Support AI-enabled workflow projects
- Map user journeys & friction points
- Evaluate adoption & performance with data
- Commercial & Customer Insight
- Analyse customer needs & market trends
- Support product or sales enablement
- Build growth opportunity recommendations
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree (any discipline), completed or due to complete before January 2027
- No more than 2 years’ post-graduate work experience
- Right to work in the Netherlands for the full 24-month length of the program and in a permanent role afterwards (we are not able to sponsor visas)
- Fluent in business English, spoken and written
- Available to start in Q1 2027
What We’re Looking For
- Curiosity about science, research, or how knowledge advances human progress. No science degree needed.
- Alignment with Elsevier’s mission: advancing human progress together
- Confident, critical use of AI tools in your work or studies
- Ownership: examples of taking the lead and driving impact, from any context, such as study, work, caring responsibilities, community or sport
- Interest in working across multiple business functions, rather than pursuing a narrow specialism

We promote a healthy work/life balance across the organisation. We offer an appealing working prospect for our people. With numerous wellbeing initiatives, shared parental leave, study assistance, and sabbaticals, we will help you meet your immediate responsibilities and your long-term goals.
