Job Description

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Employee Communications Strategist partners with the Director, Employee and Leadership Communications to develop and execute enterprise-wide communications that help employees understand Academy priorities, connect their work to organizational strategy and take informed action. The strategist manages the integrated employee communications calendar and develops content across internal channels, including the Source intranet, Source+ newsletter, leader channels, digital displays and all-employee forums. This role combines communications strategy, writing and editing, channel management, project management, measurement and hands-on production. The strategist builds trusted relationships across the organization and helps leaders and business partners deliver clear, coordinated and audience-centered communications.

As a member of the Marketing & Communication team, the Strategists primary duties and responsibilities are:

  • Employee communications strategy, planning and partnership
  • Content Development, channels and governance
  • All-employee meetings and organizational events
  • Measurement, insight and continuous improvement
  • Leader and change communications

Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6-10 Years progressive experience in employee, internal or corporate communications
  • Experience developing and executing communications plans
  • Channel Management
  • Producing content for employee and leadership audiences
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing or related field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Exceptional writing, editing and editorial judgment, with a portfolio demonstrating range across intranet articles, organizational announcements, promotional copy, leader talking points, presentations and change communications.
  • Ability to translate business strategy, financial information and complex operational topics into clear, relevant communications for non-expert audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage an integrated editorial calendar and coordinate multiple stakeholders, projects and deadlines without direct authority.
  • Strong relationship-building and consulting skills; ability to ask effective questions, understand partner objectives and recommend communication solutions.
  • Experience with intranet content management, email publishing, digital communication channels, virtual meetings and employee engagement platforms.
  • Ability to interpret channel and survey data, identify practical insights and use findings to improve communication strategy and execution.
  • Working knowledge of brand standards, accessibility and visual communication; ability to create basic graphics and direct contract or internal creative resources.
  • Discretion and sound judgment when working with confidential or sensitive organizational information.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft 365, including SharePoint, Teams and Teams meetings, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
