The Energy Analyst will be responsible for seeking new clientele, collecting data during on-site visits, evaluating recommendations for energy savings, processing rebates, and working with program managers to meet yearly goals. The Energy Analyst will also play a pivotal role in promoting and implementing energy-efficient programs, fostering collaboration with both internal and external teams, and ensuring effective communication between all stakeholders to drive energy-saving initiatives.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support customer outreach efforts to identify and onboard new program participants.
  • Build and maintain relationships with trade allies, contractors, and end-users.
  • Travel throughout the region to conduct on-site energy assessments and verification visits for energy efficiency projects (lighting, HVAC, motors, controls, etc.)
  • During travels throughout the region, working efficiently and creatively to gain participation into the program and educate a wide variety of community members through visible interaction with a goal to develop rapport for important relationships in the program
  • Perform energy savings calculations for upgrading equipment, adding efficient controls, etc. to various end use equipment (i.e., lighting, HVAC, motors) using spreadsheets and other tools
  • Work directly with end use customers to identify, calculate, and communicate energy conservation opportunities
  • Provide consistent customer contact and communication to ensure excellent ongoing customer service and satisfaction
  • Coordinate with internal team members to track project milestones using project management tools
  • Provide periodic updates to team leads and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
  • Assist with the processing of energy efficiency incentives and maintain accurate records
  • Travel includes site visits in the Houston area and surrounding counties (including occasional multi-day trips) along with potential trips to Austin area and central Texas for customer interactions and training.
  • Other activities as requested related to energy conservation, analysis, reporting, and customer service.

Required Skills

  • Some experience in energy auditing, building systems (e.g., HVAC, lighting), or energy efficiency consulting.
  • Field experience conducting site assessments or working in a hands-on, client-facing technical role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently from a remote environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience recruiting applicants for program participation.
  • Excellent skills with MS Word®, MS Excel®, MS PowerPoint®, MS Outlook®, Adobe Acrobat, and Windows® operating systems
  • 2+ years of experience in the energy sector or energy efficiency programs.
  • Familiarity with commercial HVAC systems, building automation, lighting systems, and energy auditing tools.
  • Experience working with rebate/incentive programs or delivering client-facing technical reports.
  • Knowledge of project management techniques.
  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CEM, LEED, HERS, BPI) are a bonus but not required.
