Your impact

Drive the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Brucejack’s critical infrastructure by providing structural engineering expertise, leading asset integrity initiatives, and delivering sustaining capital projects that improve operational performance

As Part of the Team, You Will
  • Provide structural engineering support across surface, underground, processing, maintenance, construction, and asset management teams, delivering practical, fit-for-purpose solutions through inspections, assessments, and technical evaluations.
  • Act as Engineer of Record (EoR) for assigned scopes, ensuring compliance with professional engineering standards, applicable codes, EGBC requirements, and engineering governance processes.
  • Lead and support sustaining capital and operational improvement projects from concept development through implementation, commissioning, and handover.
  • Manage engineering consultants, contractors, and technical deliverables to achieve quality, safety, schedule, and budget objectives.
  • Champion Newmont's Always Safe culture by identifying, assessing, and mitigating structural and asset integrity risks, while supporting risk assessments, management of change processes, and technical assurance activities.
  • Monitor asset integrity and engineering performance, implementing corrective actions and long-term mitigation strategies to improve reliability, structural integrity, and lifecycle performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development and enhancement of engineering standards, procedures, best practices, quality management systems, and technical governance processes.
  • Collaborate across operations and project teams to provide technical leadership and engineering oversight that supports safe, reliable, and sustainable business performance.
Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Structural specialization preferred), Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in British Columbia, or senior EIT nearing P.Eng. eligibility.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in structural engineering, including the analysis, design, inspection, and rehabilitation of industrial infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated understanding of project delivery principles including scope development, cost estimating, schedule management, risk assessment, consultant management, and stage-gated capital project delivery.
  • Experience acting as the owner's representative and managing external engineering consultants through the development, review, and delivery of engineering work packages.
  • Experience leading projects and managing consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills.Experience in mining, heavy industrial, processing, or sustaining capital project environments is considered an asset.
Your Work Environment
  • Hybrid role based in Vancouver, British Columbia.
  • Minimum one site visit per quarter to Brucejack Mine, with additional travel as required.
  • Regular collaboration with operational, maintenance, project delivery, and engineering teams.

The expected salary range for this role is CA$94,100 - $125,400 + 15% STIP. This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
