We're hiring a co-op student at BIICS — Winter 2027 term.

BIICS is a Canadian-owned IT consulting and managed services firm working with banks, financial services, technology and manufacturing clients across North America. Small team, real client engagements, no sandbox projects.

What you'd actually do

  • Ship features end to end — React + TypeScript on the front, Node on the back
  • Build the internal tools and dashboards our consultants use on live client programs
  • Work inside real enterprise constraints: client data separation, audit trails, and the security expectations that come with financial services work
  • Get your code reviewed properly. Four months here and you'll be a noticeably better engineer.

What we're looking for

  • A student currently enrolled in a co-op, internship or field placement program at a Canadian college or university, where the term counts for academic credit
  • Comfortable in TypeScript — and comfortable saying "I don't know that yet"
  • Someone who reads the existing code before adding to it

Details

• Full-time, 35 hrs/week

• Hybrid — Brampton / Toronto, or remote for the right candidate

• Term: January – April 2027

• Unpaid academic placement - credit-bearing, arranged through your school's co-op or placement office. We'll sign the placement agreement your institution requires.

Certificate of completion provided

Must be eligible to work in Canada (international students: valid co-op work permit — still required for unpaid placements)

Strong performers are considered for a full-time offer at the end of the term

Send a resume and a GitHub or project link to sanjay@biics.ca - skip the cover letter, show me something you built.
