What you'll do

As an experienced leader, you will play a key role as an Engineering Manager to lead our DevX Frameworks squad, within the WDigital Engineering Foundations team, a part of Service Operations and Infrastructure (SOI)

This squad is focussed on providing capabilities for application development, Infrastructure automation and deployment within the guardrails of secure, high-quality, and well-governed foundations.

The world of software development is changing rapidly with a strategic shift to leverage Agentic Workflows, and Coding agents throughout the SDLC, and WDigital and SOI are at the forefront of these changes. We require an innovative thought leader with a deep background in infrastructure automation and/or Software development with existing experience in Agentic Development.

What you’ll bring

• Strong stakeholder management experience along with excellent communication skills
• Experienced thought leader, managing and leading a squad of up to 8 engineers, and reporting to Head of Technology, Digital Foundations
• A Product owner background with proven ability to define a product strategy and roadmap and execute against same to deliver maximum value
• Solid experience in managing a team of Application and Cloud Platform Engineers (5-10 team members)
  
  

Experience With The Following Tech Stack

• Cloud SME - Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform
• Modern development languages, eg Microsoft .Net, C#, Go, Python
• Deep Expertise in cloud architecture patterns and standards, with expertise in API and Microservice integration
• Integration tooling including API Gateway, Model Context Protocol
• Deep Agentic AI dev experience (eg Claude, Vertex AI or similar)
• Workload optimisation for performance, cost, security
• DevSecOps and CI/CD expertise, IAC automation (Terraform or similar)
• Observability Platforms and integration (eg Dynatrace, Splunk or similar)
