This is an Engineering Manager role at an AI infrastructure company that builds its own cloud from the ground up. Not renting someone else's compute. Owning the full stack from datacentre to software.

You'd run a critical function: two scrum teams, six engineers today (growing to nine), all senior or principal ICs. Backend, platform, DevOps. Your job is getting this team aligned to product, shipping predictably, and growing. There's no dedicated EM right now. The CTO has been carrying the people management and needs someone who'll do it properly.

You'd report directly to the CTO alongside a small group of peer EMs. The company is scaling internationally and the infrastructure your team builds is what makes that possible.

The tech is real. GPU-native workloads, multi-tenant control planes, Kubernetes at scale. If your background is platform or infra and you moved into management because you were good at unblocking people, this is the kind of problem that'll hold your attention.

You'll need:

- Engineering background in backend, infra, platform, or devops

- Experience managing and hiring engineers (5-10 reports)

- Track record with distributed or cloud-native systems

- Comfort working with product to turn roadmap into execution

Fully remote, UK-based, with occasional touchpoints in Gloucester or London. 30 days leave, private medical, flexible hours.
