The Honeywell Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) business provides efficient, customizable, and sustainable liquefaction solutions, combining proven technology with decades of experience in LNG equipment manufacture and operation. LNG’s equipment is designed by our engineering organization and fabricated at our manufacturing facility in Port Manatee, FL, or other domestic and international third-party facilities. Our customers utilize this equipment to liquefy extracted natural gas, significantly enhancing its transportability as an energy source to end users globally. The Plant Systems Engineering Manager will be based in our Honeywell LNG Headquarters located in Allentown, PA. Hybrid Work Schedule Note: For the first 90 days, New Hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite M-F You will be part of Honeywell’s Manufacturing & Design Engineering (MDE) organization, with solid line reporting to the MDE Director. The role will be responsible for staffing, skills management, professional development, workload forecasting, and technical execution by the members of the MDE Plant Systems Engineering team. This group includes multiple disciplines – Controls Engineering, Instrumentation & Electrical Engineering, and Process Systems Engineering (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) Development and Ownership). The successful candidate will continue to grow and develop this team to meet the growing needs of the LNG business in terms of new LNG liquefaction plant designs and equipment offerings, project bidding, project execution, plant design basis development, and Aftermarket controls offerings. As team manager, the candidate will also develop forward technical and execution strategies for these disciplines, setting project scope breaks and deciding when to specify and outsource, leverage additional Honeywell resources, or self-execute. The position will require occasional domestic and international travel to other Honeywell sites, supplier locations, and customer locations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and continuously maintain workload forecasting plan for all team disciplines, ensuring team capability to meet demands from all business lanes. Develop and execute team staffing plan, including full hires, contractors, strategic redundancy and contingency, and outsourcing contingency options. Provide coaching and professional development plan for all team members to support their career and technical growth. Create and ensure implementation of training requirements for each role/discipline on the team; maintain matrix of team member skills, credentials, and qualifications for each aspect of work. Manage LNG Process Safety work processes including design reviews, HAZOPs, engagement with LNG and Honeywell stakeholders, and engagement with third party stakeholders as necessary. Establish and ensure compliance with discipline-specific quality control measures for technical work and deliverables. Proactively develop execution models and plans for discipline resourcing, deliverable completion, and overall schedule for each project. Manage technical risk register for each team discipline and project/product offering, ensuring that step-outs are proactively identified and mitigation plans are followed. Develop and maintain technical knowledge library/architecture, ensuring that discipline standards, specifications, work instructions, guidelines, etc. are maintained and followed. Contribute to new offering development for new LNG liquefaction plants and Aftermarket services for operating customers/plants. • Support management and additions to approved supplier list for components specified or designed by Plant Systems Engineering (e.g., control valves, instrumentation, etc.). Support team execution by serving as author, checker, and approver of technical deliverables when required and appropriate. MUST HAVE Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics Minimum 6 years of advanced engineering experience, or prior experience in engineering management. Minimum 6 years of experience in technical execution, organizational planning, and risk identification. Ability to multitask and track simultaneous urgent efforts to completion. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
