ROLE OUTLINE


About Us: The Mission Critical Segment implements strategies to achieve sustainable financial results, maintain and grow customer accounts, and pursue profitable growth in pre-engineered buildings and services. The Mission Critical Segment is aligned with demanding customer needs to allow for streamlined estimating processes aimed at one specific end use, allowing for maximum efficiency in program/strategic accounts.


Position Summary: The Engineering Services Manager oversees the Mission Critical Engineering team and support staff in their location, focusing on the highest standards in engineering and production services, while working with other managers and coordinators to maintain consistency and acceptable project schedules. The Engineering Services Manager also develops high performance work teams that meet company objectives and profitability goals.


This position is accountable for building, mentoring, and leading a high‑performing team of designers and detailers, ensuring the consistent delivery of timely, accurate, and optimized drawings to customers In addition to leadership responsibilities, the Engineering Services Manager plays a direct technical and commercial role in advancing complex projects. This includes developing value‑engineering alternatives for design‑build opportunities, supporting post‑order pricing solutions, participating in high‑level technical and sales discussions with corporate customers and flexing schedules to accommodate high-demand customers.


Key Focus Areas


  • Maximize locational engineering team accuracy, utilization, absorption, forecasting and efficiency to accelerate throughput, shorten lead times and meet demanding customer timelines.
  • Build and adapt engineering team processes that align with demanding customer timelines, including potential participation in program account customer meetings as needed. Work across functions as the representative for the engineering team in program account work.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to company engineering improvement initiatives including the standardizing of processes and systems to drive improvements in quality and to significantly reduce claims, and the implementation of nVision.
  • Ensure all reports, records, data and support documents are current and accurate and used to analyze the performance of teams.
  • Ensure people management processes are adhered to including the performance management, talent and succession processes, and ensure resources exist that meet the technical capability to meet the needs of customers.

Foundational Experience


Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor of Science in Engineering and 4 years supervisory experience

· Professional Engineering license; or additional 10 years of industry experience or additional 7 years of estimating experience in lieu of license

· 8 years of Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) Experience

· Proven track record of leading high-performance engineering teams

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.


Preferred Qualifications:

· 10 years of Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) Experience

· Strong technical background preferred.

· Thorough knowledge of company product and engineering procedures

· Thorough knowledge of company engineering reports & metrics

· Experience with PEMB data center customers/programs
